World of goo 2 does such an amazing job at building on the masterpiece of the first game. They follow the golden rule of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" and in the process create something that extremely nostalgic yet still fresh. The game still features the same goo building that was in the first game, but now with new mechanics involving liquid goo, new goo ball types, and new state mechanics! Rather than making a completely new soundtrack, they took all the songs from the first game and remade them! There were also new songs but all in all the soundtrack was fantastic. If you were a fan of the original or are just a fan of building/physics based puzzle games, absolutely check this game out!
I Wani Hug that Gator was so much more amazing than I had expected. I had heard great things about the game but took a while to give the game a shot. When I say I was blown away, I really mean it. this may be one of the best written games I have played in the last 4 years. At first you go into it laughing at the absurdity of the story and the nostalgia of the high school experience. But as the game goes on, your dragged in by the characters and how grounded in reality their problems are. Everything about the game itself is grounded in reality which in turn makes every important moment hit you like a brick wall. every ending does a great job at making you feel proud of what you accomplished or feel like the absolute scum of the earth because you screwed up. It does such a good job toying with your emotions that it was the 7th game ever to make me shed some tears. On top of all of that, the soundtrack does an amazing job being able to tie every moment together. All in all, it took me about 18 hrs to see everything the game has to offer. I almost feel lost now that I've finished which says to me that it was extremely good. If you're a fan of visual novels, absolutely check this one out. if you're not a fan of visual novels, maybe give it a shot. To me, it was good enough to where I feel like I can recommend it to non visual novel players especially if you're looking for a good jumping off point into the genre.
I Am Future is a relaxing little survival game that has you surviving on the rooftops of a flooded city. You end up having to make do by dismantling the junk on the rooftops to make different structures needed to help you survive. As you explore you begin to learn more about yourself and what happened to the world. Overall the game was a lot of fun! However, the game is in early access at the moment so there are a handful of bugs as well as a lack of overall content. The game itself shows strong bones and will likely be a very good game once it's complete. If the game sounds like it's up your alley, I would recommend giving it a shot!
Felyne Isles is much like your standard match 3 puzzle games. Overall the game doesn't do too much special other than adding a monster hunter flair to a puzzle game. However, the game is quite friendly when it comes to in app purchases. So far I have only been given a popup to buy a starter pack once. On top of that, ads are (currently) nonexistent! As a whole the game is just a great simple puzzle game. I'd recommend it if you like monster hunter. If you aren't a monster hunter fan, the game is overall pretty cute so I would still recommend it.
Solatorobo is an action role playing game where you pilot a robot which allows you to pick up and throw things. You travel to different islands solving problems and trying to save the world from an ancient cataclysm with the help of a mysterious stranger you picked up along the way. The game was released at the end of the DS lifespan and does an amazing job at showcasing what the DS could handle. The game is a hidden gem and I would highly recommend it to anyone who can find a way to play it!
