Channel 3 is gamified. Most things you do here earn XP, which you can use to unlock cool stuff.
I've never played a mainline Pokemon game. So...all of them? I've played Pokemon GO, Pokemon Quest, Pokemon Stadium, and Pokemon Legends: Arceus. It's just something I missed out on growing up.

I wouldn't mind going back and playing one or two of them, but I wouldn't know where to start or which one to pick.

I just generally enjoy Pokémon games so any of them would be fine. Sword/Shield was fun, I enjoyed Scarlet/Violet even though it runs like crap. Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl is a remake of an older game. Let's go is red/blue with different mechanics.

Pokémon Blue, Red, or Yellow. Or the Switch version of it, Let's Go, Pikachu! or Let's Go, Eevee!
Generation Only (aka the first 151 Pokémon - any after that are fake news)!

S6 I Came, I Rekt
I actually have a copy of Lets Go, Pikachu that we bought for my daughter when she was younger that never got played. I guess that's the one I'll go with.

And there are a couple of later gen Pokemon that i like, but I'm with you, 1st Gen are the by far the best.

Season XP Top 10
Everyone’s got their own opinions on which game to start with, but honestly any of the games with a good story or stellar soundtrack would be one to start with.

Black/White (or the sequels) or scarlet/violet would be my recommendations. Scarlet/violet is a decent pickup for the Switch if you can look past the performance issues and the iffy graphics. But all of the black/white games are great. Played through 3 out of the 4 😂

End of the Blue Waves
You can start with any of then. I think X/Y would be a good starting point. Or Sword/Shield.
