Possibly, I'd say it depends on backwards compatibility with its successor console and any potential price drops as well in the near future! I can definitely see it happening though.

Yes, Nintendo seems like they want to make it number one. They will probably keep porting older titles to the switch and add a DS/Wii/Gamecube online services when sales need to boost back up.
