The pronunciation of those specific combination of letters is already claimed by the word "gift", as used in the example. You simply remove the "t" and it's sound at the end to correctly pronounce the word gif.

I'm gonna be honest. My heart and my head differ on this one. I say hard G more than not because I deal with "GIFI's" at my work with a hard G. But I want to be a soft G person. I really want to. I choose the man I want to be, not the man I am.
