I have only participated in one tournament and it was last weekend 6-30-23. I had to go against the previous tournament champion int he first round. She was a high schooler who had a posse of family there to support her. I beat her in the first round and her momager like mother gave me a pretty scary death stare.
Now where I screwed up is there was about an hour between that race and the next race and I was thirsty after my victory. Multiple beers, no biddy buggy, and playing Crossing Cup (middle finger to Baby Park) put me in last of our group of four and sent me to the losers bracket.
Decided to drink water until the next race and when it was time to go I saw myself back to facing the high schooler I beat with momager right next to her not looking happy to see me again. Still not fully recovered from my thirstiness earlier I was coming in second to her in two races and 4th in another. I was in second going into the last race and she had a pretty commanding lead. I said I think you got this unless you come in 9th or worse and I come in 1st. Guess what started to happen? I had a very huge lead on the last race and she was stuck in the back and could not catch up. Blue shells and lightning could slow me down. I was in the zone and feeling good until I heard "YOU JINXED MY DAUGHTER!". I look and see the momager staring through my soul. I kept my lead and came in first but the reigning champ made it to 6th place which secured her victory.
She ended up winning the whole thing so I guess I can say at least I gave her her only loss. I am pretty sure I would of made it far though if it wasn't for my thirstiness. Oh well, still had a great time.

I am having a very slow week at work. I declared this week a loss with the holiday on a Tuesday and so many people off. Next week I will be busy prepping for a FERC inventory count and then the following week I'll be out of town for work. Gotta get it where I can fit it lol.
