Some things need wires, some don't. I don't want to mess with recharging mid game. While I do enjoy having a less cluttered desk with wireless, having controls stop working mid fight is unacceptable

Wireless is the only way to go but the downside is that the battery dies out on you usually at the worst time.

I didn’t play with wired controllers for 15-20 years just to not use wireless when the tech finally came around. I would hardwire my console if I had Ethernet handy though.

I would say wired because it's normally cheaper, but my current dog is nuts and having cables draped across the living room is not a good idea.
