Yes. It requires training, discipline, etc, just like more physical sports, and physical injuries do occur. The two share a lot of similarities, the only difference is that more physical sports like soccer require cardio, etc, but I wouldn't be surprised if in the future, VR and AR tech blends eSports and what we know as today's sports. There are already examples of this in interactive light up game rooms, for one.
