After the events of Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion, Turnip Boy joins the Pickled Gang and decides to rob a bank. Turnip Boy Robs a Bank is an action game with roguelite elements. Players attempt to get as much money from the bank as possible. After three minutes, the police arrive, and after getting 5 stars, Stinky floods the bank with gas, which can kill Turnip Boy. Between bank robberies, players can purchase items. If Turnip Boy dies during the robbery, he receives less money. The banks are procedurally generated.

This is an action-adventure game in which players assume the role of a turnip trying to pull off a perfect heist. From a ¾-overhead perspective, players can explore a bank, shake down hostages, and engage in shootouts with enemies (e.g., security guards, elite swat teams). Players use cartoony pistols, shotguns, grenade launchers, and swords to defeat enemies. Combat is highlighted by gunfire, impact sounds, and colorful light effects. Some sequences depict stylized blood, including a still image of blood dripping from a character's eyes and a turnip's body amid a small pool of blood.
