I really liked this game. Was it as good as the first? Not really, but it did add a lot of new features that fans of the first will enjoy. I will say that there is a "open area" segment the game would 100% be better without. That said, after a playthrough of 1 and diving straight into 2, I enjoyed the experience and can see myself revisiting this game to 100%, just like the first.
Game about dealing with trauma and how two individuals deal with said trauma in their personal and professional lives.
Honestly felt underwhelmed by the ending and build up. Not going to spoil anything, because it's worth a play, but the game goes in a totally different direction than expected at the end.
This is one of those games where I was too young to appreciate. I remember seeing this game being tooted around as one of the best games ever back in the day on Xplay.
In the last 3 years or so, I got into the Resident Evil series, with Biohazard (7) and Village (8). Both of these games were fantastic FPS games.
However, I was blown away by the third person Resident Evil 4 remake. Not only was it more challenging than the above, but the story was much more intense.
For my first experience of RE4, I am so happy I got to play a remake that not only lives up to the original, but possible surpasses it.
If you have game pass and have not played this game, then you are sleeping on a potential GOTY. Game is goofy and challenging. Reminds me of a Viewtiful Joe game with how wacky some of the game play is and also the comic style.
Honestly, a welcomed surprise for 2023. Highly recommend!
I bought this game during the Steam Autumn sale on a whim. The graphics are gorgeous and the story interesting. The main thing that made this game stick out to me is that it has the same feel as playing Bioshock 1 for the first time. Some of the horror/jump scares in this game are fresh and I enjoyed every moment playing through this game.
Game is a simple Metroidvania style game. Also, isn't 40+ hours like similar games. So with that in mind, it's a perfect Metroidvania that respects the players time.
Was a return to form for Halo multiplayer wise. The campaign was pretty rough..
The skill gap in multiplayer was insane due to movement options. This divided some of the fanbase, but was a overall an improvement over the dumpster fire that was Halo 4.
I don't know what it is about games like Marvel Snap, but I am highly addicted. Hearthstone and a NFT game I played called God's Unchained take too long for some games, but these are so fast.
The teeny tiny amount of dopamine I get from winning a game, or having a strategy pay off just feels too good.
Game is hot. Also, you do a thing at the end that I think has been censored now, which kinda takes the twist and plot and tosses them to the side. Still recommend.
I got this game on gamepass expecting memes, but what I got was a masterpiece. There is an actual story buried in this wild game that can be completed in a couple hours. Would recommend giving it a try especially if you like obscure references to games and anime.
Really liking this game. Thought it would play like Smash, but I am glad that I was wrong. It's a new feel that is Smash-like with it's own charm. Can't wait to see where this game is a couple months from now when whacky character like Rick and Morty drop. Also, Lebron James is in the game, so play for that meme alone.
I get why people like this game, but it just doesn't feel like a Zelda to me. I played this originally on the Wii U and never finished it until I picked it up again on the Switch. The weapon breaking mechanic is a real turn off and although the open world idea is cool, it just takes away from the basic Zelda formula I have come to love.
One of those games that you just have to experience at least once. Before your eyes uses your webcam to determine if you blink. When you blink certain aspects of the game will change, i.e. the game will jump in time or in and out of different scenarios. Trying to avoid spoiling anything, but the game is often less than $10 on Steam and can be beat in ~3 hours.
The fighting game that literally has everybody in it. This game was passed by floppy/usb at my school. Anytime we had computer time, we were playing Mugen.
This "game" has made bedtime routine super easy for my 3 year old. He now looks forward to brushing his teeth. He also sits still and brushes long enough that I know his teeth are actually clean.
This is the horror game of all horror games. The game brings you through the life of a father that sacrifices everything to save his daughter. A dark game with a interesting history that ended up making it banned on Steam and in China.
Visual novel game. It's weird.... for two reasons. The first being that it's a visual novel game. This is something that most will not be used/comfortable with. The second reason is the subject matter at hand. It's dark. Don't let the anime girls deceive you. This is truly one of the darkest games I have ever played. Would I recommend to people? It depends on your comfort level with certain topics. However, from my experience, I am glad I went in blind and experienced this game for the weird art that it is.
Blizzard is literally deleting this game as soon as Overwatch 2 comes out. So disappointing that a game isn't even going to be able to be played once they roll out the glorified new patch they call "Overwatch 2"
The new spin on catching and battling Pokémon is nice. However, the graphics leave a lot to be desired especially for a switch game. I hope they adapt the new battle format for future titles as it is a unique experience for a Pokémon game.
As a PlayStation exclusive it is a good game. However, the amount of padding between each mission makes this game feel like a grind. If you absolutely love Spiderman this game is for you, but if you are indifferent this game will bore you to tears with the fetch quests.
I only got to play this at a friends house as a kid as he owned a Genesis while I had a Nintendo/Super Nintendo. Great game that defined Sonic for generations. Sadly the newer installments got worse overtime. However, I do have hope for the new Sonic Frontiers game.
The first 3D Mario is a game that should be experienced by all regardless of what Nintendo platform you decide to play it on. I honestly think that the DS version is what you should play if you have never played this game, but to each their own. The DS version offers more Stars to earn and Mini Games.
Tanooki Suit Mario is how I define Mario 1-3. This game and it's secret whistles still bring back childhood dreams of watching The Wizard and wishing I had that dank ass Power Glove.
Best multiplayer Call of Duty of all time. The online ranking system for this has not been matched. This was the last game I played competitively before putting all games aside to focus on college. Anyone that knows anything about eSports will know this as the COD that defined the current pro scene.
Nier is one of those games that completely slipped my radar when it first came out in 2010 for the Xbox 360 and PS3. However, I finally played the remastered version, confusingly called, NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139. This version came out last year for the Xbox One, PS4, and PC and included updated graphics, fighting mechanics, and a brand new ending.
A common theme with Nier games is that there are multiple ending. The first time you complete a ending a lot of questions come up, but by completing various endings more and more of story is fleshed out and connected in a way that is very unique.
Gameplay is hack and slash and puzzle solving. Although not extremely difficult, the NPCs, atmosphere, and soundtrack (which won The Game Awards for Best Score and Music 2021) really make this a game you should check out if you are into fantasy/RPG games.
343 you had the potential to make a good Halo game. Halo 5 was a step in the right direction and Infinite lived up to the hype.... Until we all realized how little content is there for a "live service" game. 2 new maps since launch is embarrassing, especially if you are trying to compete with games like Fortnite/Apex. As a Halo fan I am very disappointed with the way 343 has treated this title.
The perfect blend of fast paced FPS platforming/parkour action with just enough visual novel style story elements to not make the game boring. Soundtrack is phenomenal and I find myself trying to beat my time for levels to ensure I have the top rank before moving on. The story was excellent even though the voice acting was a bit cringe inducing at times. 10/10 would parkour again!
Great baby's first Roguelike. Easy to pick up and play. Great sound track, story, and art. If you are at all interested in Roguelike games this is a must play.
A Link to the Past is tied with Ocarina of Time as my favorite game of all time. A Link to the Past was the first Zelda game I ever played although I never beat it when I was a small child, since I didn't know where to get the Moon Pearl to be normal link in the dark world. Years later I beat it on the GBA and it has become one of those games I play every other year from start to finish. Highly recommend playing through this at least once.
This was actually the first God of War game I ever played. If you never played the other games, you will be able to pick this up and enjoy the experience from start to end without missing out on anything. Excited for the sequel and the future of this franchise!
Never played the original, but the remake on the switch is very aesthetically pleasing. I always heard good things about this game, so I picked it up on the Switch. Game plays like a classic Zelda game, the mix of Mario enemies and Zelda II like segments are super unique and charming.
Most people prefer Twilight Princess to this game for it's more realistic graphics. However, I think this game and Minish Cap are the two most unique games of the Zelda series. The premise is what you expect for a Zelda game, but the atmosphere and art aesthetics is what separates it from other games in the franchise.
This is one of those games that the cover is super deceiving. When I first played I expected low anime tier tropes. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the story. There are several different ending to this one and I highly recommend playing through the "alternative playthroughs" till ending C. The twists in this game are crazy, especially if you have never played a Nier game.
Next gen Mario Kart....kinda may have been on the Wii U and now on the Switch, but it's still super good. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a party game to play with family and friends.
The soundtrack for this game still holds up as background noise when I am working. Gameplay also still holds up and I am so happy you can play it on the switch.
FFXIV is one of the best modern MMORPGS currently available on the market. You can play FINAL FANTASY XIV up to level 60 for free (which is the original game + the first expansion). Unlike most MMORPGS this game heavily story driven, if you are not into Final Fantasy games, then this will most likely not be a good MMORPG for you. However, if you are into Final Fantasy games then this game is filled to the brim with Final Fantasy tropes and throwbacks to prior games.
Most of the game is completed solo, but dungeons and raids are completed with other players via a matchmaking type system (meaning old content is never dead since the devs reward vets to play them again). The community is overall very welcoming to new players.
Admittingly, the first portion of this game called "A Realm Reborn" serves as a extremely long tutorial that may turn many players away. The second expansion (which is free to play) and expansions thereafter are some of the best story telling in Final Fantasy.
Always will hold a special place in my heart. Remember getting stuck on how to get Saria's Song as a kid and had to wait like half a year when one of my cousins came over and showed me how to get it. One of the most played and talked about Zelda game, but I still think Link To The Past is better.
