White Shadows
This game is 1984/Animal Farm meets Limbo/Inside. Visuals are interesting and well done. There's great musical numbers within the game. I enjoyed playing it.

Why 3 stars? The puzzles are entirely too simple. You'll die a few times missing some jumps, but overall the puzzles were fairly obvious. I'm also not sure storyline how I should feel. I think the game wants me to take it seriously, but it's almost comedic at times. The ending was also a bit too vague and almost felt rushed compared to the entire adventure up to the final act. I think I have a decent idea of what they want me to take from the end, but I don't feel confident enough to feel great about the game.

Play it if it's on sale. It's a quick game. Don't buy it for $20. That's too much.

Yars Rising
A really fun and clean Metroidvania from Wayforward games. The sound track amplified the experience. It is by far the most relaxing Metroidvania I've played. The map opens up piece by piece as it should, there's tons of abilities to collect and use.

4 star simply because it is a very simple game from a combat and puzzle standpoint. Really enjoyable, but not particularly challenging.

Jusant
I couldn't put this game down. Brought it on my trip this weekend thanks to the Steam Deck and finished on the car ride home.

Jusant is a great name for the game, but it could've easily been called The Diary of Bianca. The story within the story of this game was impressive to discover. You do yourself a disservice if you only play the physical game and skip on collecting and reading the letters written by the different characters. This was an excellent telling of despair and uncertainty by people from all different walks of life.

Oh, also the actual game and climbing mechanics are great and intuitive. This is my second rock climbing game and I won't be upset if another one is made soon.

Old Man's Journey
I'm not sure if I've ever been so angry at a main character before that I've considered dropping a star, but here we are.
I enjoyed this game all the way until the ending, but I've learned I'm not a huge fan of point and click games. The game is well done, the mechanics are simple and make sense, the visuals and music are great. This is a wonderfully made indie game... and writing this review right after playing is making me want to drop it to 3 stars because I'm so disconnected with the choices the main character made in his life.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown
Main story and all side missions complete. 94% complete and I don't see myself searching for a few obscure items to finish the 6%. I loved this game. The story was engaging and fulfilling. Everything about the way it ended made sense to me. The large map became more and more fun to traverse as I unlocked skills. The combat mechanic was intuitive and allowed for creativity. Every boss was unique and extremely entertaining. The 3d enemy moments felt very fresh and different from other games. This is the first official game I completed on the Steam Deck and I think playing handheld added to the experience. Ubisoft completely knocked it out of the park with this one.

2024 DLC Review: I'm still technically working on DLC 1. An entire room focused on precision platforming and multiple survival rounds of combat. The developers were not kidding when they said these levels would be harder than the base game. I love the challenge.

DLC 2: Three new bosses, a believable story and rational as to why the main character has lesser powers, and a once again clear focus on challenging platforming. This was not a throw away adventure and it was worth much more than the 5$ charged. Though the first two new bosses were not very challenging or memorable the ending boss and the story told added to the games lore in a meaningful way.

I can't say enough how badly Ubisoft has dropped the ball with this game. The developers were ready to make a sequel until Ubisoft axed them completely. I hope another company picks up and continues this great reinvention of the Prince of Persia series.

This is Mega Man in Roguelite form and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. Battle through 8 bosses and 2 endgame bosses without dying. Decide which bosses to take on early and which ones get the power boost of being late stage bosses. There's tons of replay ability here with the two characters, the achievements, and the different difficulties. I'll hold off calling this game completed until I can win with the Mega Man Zero character.

This game ends poorly more times than it ends well. Sometimes it doesn't even start (dad and I both as adults fought so passionately over who got a certain piece that the game never started.)

Anyway ... Who's ready to play?

Marvel Rivals
30 hours and 190 matches in. I keep looking for reasons to not give it 5 stars, but I can't really come up with anything substantial. The game plays great, the team ups force people into using different characters, the 3rd person view means buying a skin isn't a waste, tons of marvel characters that feel like their move sets match their character well.

I'm also not exactly sure why, but it seems like it's friendlier for new people to try out.

Tabletop Smash Up (Base Game)
There's 4 people, they're all boardgame fans, what game should they play? This is it. This is THE game. This is probably my favorite board game of all time. Take two factions, put them together and take on your opponents. No game is more air tight when it comes to card mechanics, effects, actions, order, and interactions with the game. My wife and I own every single expansion (I'll be adding them here over time). This base game comes with 8 factions. My favorite faction here are the Dinosaurs because seeing a bunch of dinosaurs with laser weapons on their backs is funny. My wife's favorite are the Wizards.

The top two factions here though are the Zombies and Robots.

We keep all our games inside the Bigger Geekier Box (that's the name of an expansion)

Tabletop Marvel Villainous: Infinite Power
I was really disappointed by this expansion. The biggest thing with these card games and later expansions is making sure there is continuity and clarity with how cards react with one another and with the game. I had several instances of Marvel cards coming off a ambiguous with their direction. We don't use this expansion anymore.

Tabletop Disney Villainous: The Worst Takes it All

Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero
I've played 6 hour almost entirely story mode and am only now about to start the Namek Saga because I was busy completing all the what ifs of the Saiyan Saga. This game is jam packed with content to cover. In typical Budokai/Tenkai format, the CPU's are tough and nasty to fight.

Game play is super smooth. Combat is fast and the characters actually look fast, there are layers to the combo and dodge mechanics, and the multi difficulty levels are great for those that want an easier time going through the story. I'll update whenever I finally try out multiplayer, but this has potential to be the best game of the year.

Update: Multiplayer runs really well and I feel the majority of my fights come down to finishing moves. The only complaint is people can rage quit and I end up not winning my points in a ranked match, but hey, Smash Bros took 7 years to fix that problem so I can give DB some time.

Kirby & the Amazing Mirror
Yeah I'm done with this game. This is the first time that I just can't finish a Kirby game. I started off playing for an hour before realizing that the game is a Metroidvania and has a map. Then I realized the map is extremely convoluted and almost impossible to follow without lots of trial, error, and replaying. So many doors are closed off by blocks that each require a particular power to get through. The problem is there's nothing to really let you know which power works on which block. I love Metroidvania and challenging puzzles, but you can't have a game be challenging because it's poorly designed.

On the actual gameplay, I also have issues. This game came out in 2004. Kirby super star (my favorite Kirby game) came out on SNES in the mid 90s and had better movement and combat. How does the SNES have dash attacks and attack inputs nearly a decade before this one? 2 stars, do not recommend.

This game really does everything you want in a short indie game. The graphics are fun, the rock climbing game play is intuitive, and it's a quick 2 hour game with no dialogue and a mini story left for interpretation. Take an afternoon and play it. 4 stars just because the frames got a little twitchy at times which could affect the climbing.

How have I missed reviewing this one. Nintendo does a great job balancing competitive sport play with fun Mario mechanics. They took what was more of a concept with the first game, and turned it into an absolutely unhinged sequel with twists and turns all over the place. The writing in this game is top tier. Wrote a comment and now I can finally write this review.
Story 10/10. Absolutely beautiful representation of dealing with loss and really great to see another culture highlighted for its own rich story and customs.
Gameplay is probably 6/10 at best.
Combat goes from really easy to kind of odd and difficult for no reason, to oh I can now walk through everyone with one move. Not enough exploration either. Every time you enter a new section, the entire map is automatically given to you. There's very little to go and discover on your own and the game is pretty linear. I actually think it's a decent "my first metroidvania" since it's fairly easy to complete.

4 stars but closer to 4.4/5. Again, the story told is enough to give this one a play. I was seriously moved by it.

Hades II
I've seen all I need to see. This game is a Kingdom Hearts 2 level of sequel. They've taken everything great about the original and enhanced it more than I even thought possible.

My biggest worry was story. The Hades 1 story had so many layers and sections to it, it made the repetitive nature of rogue like worth playing. Hades 2 story makes sense, is exciting, and clearly has layers of it that I'll be exploring for some time.

Even in early access, the art style continued perfectly, the music is remixed yet still familiar, and the combat is smooth and intuitive. I am excited to continue playing, watch how the game develops, and hopefully next year have a finished product.

Now THIS is everything I expect from an indie game. The game tosses you in immediately into play with no real direction to go in. The ocean is bright, colorful, and full of life that you can interact with. The music makes it obvious what you should be feeling throughout your playthrough. The world goes from bright to dark and takes a fairly dramatic turn. I had a story that was loose, but had just enough for me to feel good about my interpretation of the events.

Also a big 1up for making me feel comfortable playing an almost entirely underwater game. I still have trouble even dealing with the eel in Mario 64. I need more indie games like Abzü.

This a really fun, fast paced, 2d race against up to 3 other people. The controls are simple and intuitive: run, jump, slide, swing and make sure you don't end up out of bounds. The best way to play this though is with your friends. Every match turns into a tense showdown of who will mess up a jump first.

Journey (2012)
I REALLY hate that I'm writing this but... I just didn't get it. Let me start with what worked well. The visuals throughout the game are stunning. The music is epic and sets a great mood through all the different stages. The gameplay is simple and easy to follow.

What didn't work? When a game is short, lacking dialogue, and lacking real conflict, I need the story to MOVE me. Words aren't needed, battles aren't needed, but I need to feel and understand on some level what the game wants me to learn. I ended the game and had no idea what I did. I didn't understand the journey, I didn't understand the destination, and I don't love the "ending". This one hurt.

I'm really enjoying this game for a few reasons:

1. The community is all taking part in the fantasy. With friends and with randoms, people are laughing in chat, yelling call outs, "sacrificing" themselves in large explosions to save their teammates. It's just good fun.

2. Once you get to medium difficulty (which isn't actually medium, there's like 7 harder modes) this game gets tough and requires teamwork.

3. Extracting the team. The longest 2 minutes invovle fighting hordes of enemies while your extract ship arrives and making sure the whole team is alive to finish the level.

There's some repetitiveness in missions, but I'm hopeful the devs are going to keep being responsive and keep giving us more.

Oh forgot about 4: The free battle pass has ALOT of stuff in it and it's reasonably priced. It's making me really consider paying for the premium.

I just completed the game and honestly don't know how to feel about it.

The colors and music suck you in right away. I love that every time a letter is read to you, the game gives you enough walking room to enjoy the dialogue without having to stand still or worry about falling. The puzzles scaled in their difficulty and were fun, but I thought they became a little too elaborate towards the end.

The ending though is really what's stopping me from going 5 stars. I had built up in my head a couple predictions of where I thought the game was going, but I didn't think all the great build up was utilized enough. I was left wanting and unsure.

If you enjoy puzzle scrollers though, I still recommend playing. Play handheld if possible.

Glad to review now that the episode is out. Galaga was my favorite arcade game growing up playing with my mom. I'm all in on these space shooters. I play controller for this one (didn't love the keyboard layout). The game is very challenging, but fair. There are some challenges to hit specific scores which will require hitting some perfect runs, but in no way is it a quarter eater like the arcade games of old were. I'm through 3 levels and had to focus in the beat each one. Cheesy dialogue is over the top, but it works. I completely believe that the salty foods are the good guys and the sweets are evil.

Bluey: The Videogame
Writing this review 2 "episodes" in. This is a really nice kid's first video game. You get to do simple tasks that teach kids concepts like platforming, following markers, and collecting items. Even my 1 year old got excited hearing the theme song play when we turned the game on.
I put 4 stars but if I'm being honest, I think it's closer to 3.5 for two reasons. 1st: For a game with very basic animations (nothing wrong with that) it has some frame bugs and even caused us to restart the game once. A game this simple shouldn't have those things happen. 2nd: the game has a VERY limited audience. Even for my 5 year old, it's already really simple since he's already been playing other games for the past year. All that said, it's a great intro to games for kids and maybe even some adults, grandparents. I had no problem spending 40$ on it.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder
I finally feel ready to write this review. They did it; they created the new standard for Mario 2D video games. I'm blown away by all the aspects of this game. The music is new, light weight, and fun. The colors pop on screen. The Flower Kingdom is its own world separate from the Mushroom Kingdom.

The level designs are well thought out and expansive. The Wonder Flowers made it seem as if each level was a 2 for 1 deal. Each one was it's own unique experience. Some levels had secret exits. Some were obvious, others took a little extra exploring. The star system was accurate and fulfilling. 1 star levels were a great way to break up a tutorial throughout the game as opposed to front loading and giving the game a slow start. The worlds were filled with entertaining 2/3 star levels and each ended with 4 star levels that were challenging. The 5 star levels were very clearly 5 stars, but were generally not needed to complete the game which leaves the game open to both casual gamers, young gamers, old gamers, and gamers who look for extra challenges.

The collection system is full, but not overwhelming. I am not chasing after 1000 meaningless, obscure objectives. It has not felt like a chore going through and collecting coins and seeds as I play the levels. As I am writing this, I have a few loose ends to tie up and I plan on doing so. Before this, the only game i had any real aspirations to 100% complete was Mario 64.

Thank you for removing the clock system and encouraging exploring. That alone may be the biggest change to 2D Mario. And for anyone that wants a clock, they still gave it to us in small, challenge segments.

This will go down as a generation defining Super Mario game. I am sitting here having serious considerations if I think it is better than Super Mario 64, but I can definitively say it has been the best 2D adventure I have played and it will be placed in my Mt. Rushmore of gaming. "Too-Da-Loo!"

The music and graphics are a real treat with this game. The controls are smooth and the different styles of drivers are noticeable and fun. The courses feel short and there aren't many yet, but I'm hoping the constant updating of content addresses that. The pay to win feel hurts the game for me. If you give me a ranked, regulated mode, I'll go to four stars. I would absolutely love this as a C3 event though.

Update 2: We're hitting 5 stars. There's an aggression needed in this game, especially off the starting line, that I really love. Your character is rewarded with boost for being offensive and crashing into others. The ranked grind is a fun time. The items all feel useful and skill dependent.

Very early review. This game is an upgraded version of BBS. KH gameplay and fighting always feels smooth and fluid. I'm into the story and happy to be playing as Sora and Riku again. This series does a great job at making each game in the series add important context to the overall story.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
Time for the official review. This game makes BOTW, former game of the year, look like a demo. Every aspect of the game has improved. The weapon combination system is fun and creative, the new building system adds layers and layers to accomplishing quests, and the map has expanded and changed. I love seeing the differences made to the iconic landscapes of BOTW. The cutscenes give life to the story in a way I thought BOTW missed. I'm engaged and want to complete every task. Nothing seems like a chore even though most of the time my gameplay involves exploring, climbing, and saving Koroks. I spent 100 hours in BOTW, I'll spend 150 easily in this one. Here's your 2023 GOTY, Nintendo does it again.

You'll get out of this game what you put in. If you play with the intention to be as stealth as possible and avoid killing people, you're going to have a fun time finding creative ways to win and explore the levels. If you just go guns blazing, you'll fly through and not truly experience what makes this game fun. 4 Stars because this is one of the few times that I think an original game was better than the sequel.

Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep
Finally finished this one. I’m torn on the rating because it has been the least enjoyable KH for me so far. In reality, I’d probably give it a 3.5. I did not love the repetitive gameplay through the three characters, but being that it was a full game on a portable system, I understand. BBS added a great layer to the story and took the series from a random island, with some random kids, who randomly got some weapons, to a story of whether or not one chooses their fate or if their fate is chosen for them. Even if it was not my favorite, I will say the final boss fights in each story were fun and challenging. I’m looking forward to starting Dream Drop Distance next.

Super Mario Odyssey
I’ve finally played this enough for a proper rating. 2 minutes into the game, I knew it was a 5 star, Mario classic. I had immediate memories of playing Mario 64. Some things I immediately noticed and loved: every stage has a multitude of achievements that can be somewhat done in any order, once you gain a “Moon” you can keep playing and don’t need to re-enter the level again, the hat mechanic is creative and doesn’t feel forced. The graphics are a colorful and bright continuation of Mario Galaxy graphics. I feel like this game is the true culmination of 35 years of Mario Adventures.

I've never met a person that didn't enjoy this game. This game had 20 levels that could be completed in a kart, raft, or airplane. That would be difficult today to create such encompassing levels. I'm hopeful for a one day sequel or at least bring it to the Switch Expansion.
1
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
I love this game, random tripping mechanic and all. The game was given a floatier style of play which contrasted with Melee's sharp and heavy style. The story mode was amazing and the final smashes were a fun addition to Smash Bros (granted it was a feature I didn't use much of). Besides the base game, the mods that were created by fans were great to play too. Brawl Minus was my personal favorite.
0
Art of Fighting
I have never met a single person who played or even knew about this game. For me, though, this was the first fighting game I ever owned or played. I didn't know who Ryu or Ken were, but I knew Ryo and Robert. They used their own version of the Hadoken and even used the same button inputs. To this day, I can only beat this game at difficulty 2/9. The CPU does not hold back. This game also holds a special place as the game my dad and I played the most together. To this day, he reminds me how I never could beat him when he used Mickey and his "ultimate move" (hold down on the d-pad and keep pressing attack). I later learned this game was a precursor to King of Fighters.

This will always be my favorite Mario game. No game or system has ever made the dramatic jump in abilities like Mario did with the N64. 3D gaming, vibrant colors and stages, and an amazing soundtrack. Though I played NES and SNES games, Super Mario 64 was the true start of my love for gaming.
1
Super Mario Bros. 2
Though this game was just another game with a Mario skin thrown over it, Mario Bros 2 gave us character designs that have stuck till this day. Luigi jumps high, Peach can fly (float? glide?), and Birdo exists. Not as good as Mario Bros 1, 3 or Super Mario World, but still very fun and memorable.
0
Super Mario World
IMO, this is the pinnacle of Mario 2d scrollers. Again, Nintendo does a great job of adding elements that become staples of the Mushroom Kingdom. Yoshi became so popular, it's had multiple games dedicated to the multi colored dinosaurs. Mario's cape has been part of his arsenal since smash bros melee (I prefer it over tanooki). Nintendo also continues its staple of placing multiple secret paths and levels in its games. Great levels, fun music, and bowser riding a propeller jar that would eventually be passed on to Bowser Jr.

Edit: Was the Pinnacle until Wonder released.

Rock Band 2
This game convinced me I could be a big time singer. 4 stars because the guitar hero circles were better than the rock band rectangles.
0
Banjo-Kazooie
This was one of the most difficult games I played as a child. I remember playing with my parents and writing down all the "facts" in the game guide. This game is still great today.
0
Banjo-Tooie
Banjo kazooie one was already challenging and this one came and upped the difficulty still. The size of the game was impressive for the time and the addition of different eggs and multiplayer really let this sequel stand out from the original.
1
Left 4 Dead 2
Loved the concept, loved the co-op design, loved the pace. A really fun zombie survival game.
0
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity
I played and loved Dynasty Warriors back on the PS2, so I was really excited to play this game. I just could not get into it. It became a chore just to try and finish the game for the sake of the story.

Mario Party 8
There were alot of things Nintendo did correctly with the Wii. Mario Party 8 was not one of them. I did not care for the game boards and the Mario Party play style just was not for me. Side note: Going through these reviews, I realized I don't recall playing any of the odd numbered games outside of the original. Childhood me knew these games weren't my thing.
0
Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout
Finally played for the first time last night. It's definitely a fun game and would make a great "private lobby" game.

Pitfall
I was too young and had no clue what was happening, but I know I played this alot.
0
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
This game taught me that I’m terrible at staying on task without being forced into it. Oh you need me to prove myself worthy of your guild? Sure, I’ll put saving the world on hold for that. And repeat. Endless hours of fun.
0
Gears of War
This was my favorite FPS game during the 360 days. The story was great and the multiplayer was unique and fun. Few things were as satisfying as finishing off an opponent with the chainsaw.
0
Super Mario Maker 2
Love this game simply because it was simple enough for my son to play.
0
Dr. Mario
This was the game I played most with mom.
0
BioShock
A creepy and dark adventure. I am still replaying this series on the Switch.
0
Mario Kart 64
This was my first Kart game. I played it non-stop and thought I was pretty good at it. As an adult, I've learned I am in fact not very good at this game. I don't think it holds up to the updated versions, but it was great for its time.

Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories
Maybe it was because I played the remastered version on PS2, but I thoroughly enjoyed this game and its card based battle system. It was genius to create an entire game to connect KH1 and 2 seamlessly.
0
Beat Saber
Anytime someone asks for VR games recommendations, this is number 1. Beat Saber is the most fun you’ll have while also getting a pretty good workout in. They keep adding to the music selection, and who doesn’t want to wield lightsabers?

Castle Crashers
Originally played this on the Xbox 360 and currently have it on the switch. This is a great hack and slash to play with a group of friends.
0
Assassin's Creed
Few feelings are as great as diving off a building into a pile of hay. I feel like this game really added to the gaming world in general by making platforming and parkour skills really matter in a 3d world. Great character, great story.

Kirby's Adventure
I can’t tell you why this or any Kirby game is great, I just know it is. One of those games that continues to hold up over time with a simple formula for success.
0
Gears of War 2
Gears 2 was the perfect follow up to Gears 1. The fighting mechanics improved with Chainsaw duels and the added Horde mode added Co-op fun. The story continued to be a huge strength and emotional rollercoaster.
0
Tetris 99
I don't know if any battle royale win was more satisfying than when I finally got one here.
0
Super Mario Maker
Nintendo said here, do it yourself. And it was a huge hit.
0
Halo: Reach
This was the first Halo I owned and played through. I loved playing the solo game and I had a blast playing online.
0
Super Mario Bros. 3
This is such a challenging game. The variety of worlds, levels, and short cuts were amazing.
0
Super Mario Bros.
This is where the fun all began. In 2022, this game still holds up and is as challenging as ever.
0
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 and 2
Without Tony Hawk, I probably never listen to Ska.

Mario Tennis
I have loved the Mario Tennis series since the N64. This game is fun, easy to pick up, and had a cpu competitive enough to constantly challenge you. Even today, the game is great to play. This game is full of hidden unlockable courses and tournaments, and it was the debut of Waluigi.
0
Pac-Man
There are still brand new, giant Pac-Man games appearing in arcades today. Nothing more needs to be said about this classic.
0
Hades
Hades succeeds where other rogue likes fail in keeping players engaged and replaying over and over without getting stale. The story continues way past the “main” story and keeps adding layers the more you engage with the characters. I’m 80 escape attempts and I could probably do another 80 and still have things to do in this game. A must play.
0
Fortnite
No build mode has allowed me to really enjoy Fortnite. It also has the most rewarding Battle Pass system I have come across. I love that I can play alone and complete a variety of objectives that have nothing to do with actually winning a round. The art is also creative and fun with each new season.

Kingdom Hearts II
The "sequel" to one of the greatest games delivered with an updated, smoother battle system, challenging bosses, more Disney characters, and new characters to pull at your heart strings.
0
Super Mario Galaxy
Just a beautiful looking game. This was a great upgrade from the previous console's Mario adventure. I distinctly remember just using the flying cap to go around the game lobby.
0
SimCity 2000
I just didn't understand this game or what the appeal was. Building cities wasn't exciting with for me.
0
Super Mario Kart
This to me is another game in line with Star Fox for SNES. The game was too ahead of the technology and the Nintendo 64 versions are better. Thank you for walking so the rest of the series could run.
0
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City
Loved going to my uncle's house because it meant I got to play this game. Weapon codes were always memorized.
0
Ori and the Blind Forest
The art and music alone would make it a 5 star game. The great gameplay and story are just extra.
0
Mario Strikers: Battle League
Update: I've been meaning to write this for a while, but the amount of disappointment this game made me feel is tough to describe. They took what I think is their best sport series and gave us a hollow shell of what it used to be. This game gets the same review from me as Halo Infinite. The gameplay mechanics are there, but the content is a 1/5. Shame on Nintendo.

They've kept the essence of the game while still making it feel new and fresh. This is going to be an exciting skill based, multiplayer battle.
0
Dig Dug
I played Dig Dug in a variety pack of games on the N64. The classics continue to hold up and are still challenging today.
0
Mario Tennis Aces
Nintendo does a great job of keeping a winning formula with tennis Aces.
0
Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island
Another really fun side scrolling adventure. Yoshi's main character debut didn't disappoint
0
Pokémon Yellow
THIS was my Pokemon game. I finally had a simple way to own all three starters. I also could never bring myself to put Pikachu in Bill's computer.

0
Wordle
Fun for a little bit, but once you work out a system it just feels like a tedious task.

Update: adding a star just because I'm enjoying playing it with people here.

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
My mom begrudgingly allowed me to buy this as long as I agreed to play with no sound around my younger brothers.
0
Mario Kart: Double Dash
Mario kart 8 is clearly the pinnacle of kart, but Double Dash was the one I put the most time in. The weight classes and special character items really moved the series forward. And player 2 was great for the younger sibling.

Apex Legends
Looks cool watching people play, but it was way too fast for me. Played a few and just couldn't figure out what was going on at all.

Star Wars Episode I: Racer
The proper way to play this game is at a Chuck E Cheese arcade.
0
Among Us
I’ma huge fan of deduction board games. Being able to take that concept and play with anyone around the world was absolutely genius.
0
Super Smash Bros. 64
The game doesn't hold up to the sequels, but when this game came out, the world changed. This game was such an amazing change in fighting (party game, whatever) and it has one of the best gaming commercials ever made. When it finally comes out on the switch expansion, I'll be excited to play it again with friends.
0
Pokémon GO
It had its moment, but this ended up being another Pokemon adventure that I was not very in to. The original game that this was skinned over seemed more fun.
0
Dante's Inferno
Create a game around religious and mythological stories and I'm in. Smooth fighting mechanics, multiple fighting styles, and you learned a little bit as you journeyed through the inferno. Had some replayability too.
0
Asteroids
Something about these simple games with simple objectives just works so well. Sit, aim, fire.
0
Cruis'n USA
Probably my first racing simulator. I can still hear the theme song, and I still remember how difficult the forest level was.

NFL Blitz
As a kid who knew absolutely nothing about football, this game provided a fun and easy way to play. The only issue is that I thought 30yd 1st downs were real.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land
Nintendo came back this year with their proven Kirby formula and nailed it once again. Kirby gains some new abilities and revamps a few classic ones. The colors and art style of the levels and the villains are vibrant and fun to watch. I could not put this game down. Two player mode is great to play with a younger child or sibling.
0
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
Wielding a lightsaber and force powers with the Wii remote and nunchuk was such a great experience. Game was just a little too short and simple.

Assassin's Creed II
Here's another sequel that took a game to the next level. The amount of detail in the recreation of Italy is unmatched in my view. Ezio is the assassin I will always relate the series to.
