I played PS4 from 2016 to 2021 and switched to Xbox after it became impossible to find a PS5. Now that I have one I am mad I missed out. The storage is huge, the graphics are way better, the load times are instantaneous, and of course the single player games are better. What I never like about the Playstation was the controller. The PS5 controller changed that. I don’t feel my thumbs as close as the PS4 and the trigger are ten times better than the Xbox. The fact that the game you are playing can put resistance on the triggers based on what you are doing is unlike anything else. I have trouble finding the screen shot and options button but I’m sure that will become easier as I play. I’m definitely beginning the move away from Xbox and going back to being a PlayStation gamer.

PC
I don't play on PC too much but I have a few times and it is definitely leaps and bounds above consoles. I have a gaming laptop I use sometimes and the pictures are clearing and you actually have a large catalog to choose from in multiple gaming download sites. My console days may be numbered soon.

Super Nintendo (SNES)
Played NES as a kid but this was the first console we had in our house. Great memories. I remember my parents got it for us for Easter in '92. So Sunday we get the system, we didn't have the right adapter for the TV so we couldn't play (of course), and Monday we took a week trip to my grandparents. Such torture!!!!! I read the instruction manual for Super Mario Bros. back to front over and over that week. My dad had it set up for us when we got back and told us to turn the dial on the TV to channel 3 and have fun. Just a system that was amazing in its day and really got many of us into gaming.

PlayStation 3
I bought one of these but I didn't really play that much. I had and Xbox 360 which I likes much more. This basically just was a blue-ray player for me. I did play a game called Resistance on it that I liked. Besides that I felt like PS3 lagged behind Xbox.

Xbox One
I was gifted this when I got out of the Army. Unfortunately I sold it when my wife got pregnant as I did not have the discretionary income at the time like I do now. I feel like this was far better than PS4 and the controller is much more ergonomic. Played the hell out Shadows of Mordor on this. Moral of the story; Xbox is better and outwork everyone around you (shelf stocker to inventory management) . If my uneducated ass can make it then anyone can. Xbox is superior.

PlayStation 4
The one Sony Playstion I rocked the most. I normally am bad about holding onto game systems when I have upgraded but I haven’t got rid of this yet. I think this will go down as the best Sony system. Graphically it’s there with next gen consoles in my opinion.

Atari 2600
Very faint memories of playing Frogger on this. I mean like I was probably 4. So I say average rating for my first introduction to video games.

PlayStation 2
This console got lots of playtime in the barracks. Played lots of SOCOM, Madden, Conflict Desert Storm, and GTA (last time I played GTA). Had one in Iraq too but didn't really play much on it.

GameCube
Nintendo's attempt to keep up with Sony and Microsoft in my opinion. I didn't get to play many games on this system because its about the time I signed my life away to the Army. I do think about buying one though to get some nostalgia.

Wii
Wii was good but the when using the controller for motion related games it could be a bit clunky. I loved most Nintendo brand games on this console though.

Nintendo Switch
I had every Nintendo System up to the Wii (had GameCube but didn't play much) and when I saw the Wii U I though it looked over gimmicky and I passed. Then I saw the Switch come out and I still thought the portability of it was gimmicky and I passed on it for 3 years. Those are three years of Switch playing I missed out on. Although I am not a big portable/mobile player the ease of going from Switch to TV is awesome. I would probably play more on the Switch itself if the joycon were more comfortable like the controller attachment that comes with it. I wish Nintendo would allow you to buy older games like the Wii did but its still not bad with the virtual consoles. Nintendo has definitely found its niche in the gaming industry and I think they need to stick with it. I wonder what will be next for Nintendo but I think they can ride the Switch wave for many more years.

Xbox Series X/S
Series S brought me back to Xbox after switching to Sony during the PS4 era. Series S works great and having to go only digital is totally fine with me. I think this be my last console I get (not including Nintendo) and may switch to PC.

Dreamcast
Controller was goofy and games horrible. I really wanted to like this since Saved up for it with my $5.15 an hour job. I worked at Blockbuster (whaaat?) when this was out and played just about all the games. Only good game was NFL 2K.

PlayStation VR
Good idea but terrible execution. You’re tethered down and you can easily run into objects in your home. In reality PS needs to through in the towel against Oculus.

Xbox 360
Great games that introduced me to franchise’s I love still. But that red ring of death…not having my Xbox for over a month was no good while it got fixed.

Nintendo 64
Got this for Christmas the year it came out. My parents not being gamers (common if you were born in the century) didn’t know it didn’t come with game like the SNES. I road my bike to Blockbuster and ran in know on Christmas Day the place would be packed with people getting N64 games. There was only one title with copies left. Star Wars Shadows of The Empire. What and epic game. After playing the Hoth level I told myself graphics don’t get any better than this. Lots of good memories I can easily remember since I was older when this came out. The fact more than two people was a life saver for parents I imagine to keep the fighting to a minimum on how’s for next.

Oculus Quest 2
Would be 5 starts cuz I love this technology but some games just give you bad motion sickness. Superhot VR and Beat Sabers are must. I had a PS VR and I hated being tethered down with wires and bumping into things. I feel like this is much safer with making your own guardian zone and you can see everything around you once you get to the guardian limits. I want to try more games but I do worry I won’t play them due to nausea. Lots of potential though especially if you got the dough for the treadmill pad type set up. I think that this could be 5 starts in the future. It really is fun.

Side note. I know all of us who own an Oculus and saw Ready Player One were wondering how is everyone doing this without vomiting on themselves lol.

Stadia
I was kinda pumped about this at first and then google sent me one free when I had a google phone. I think it was a smart idea but it just didn’t come through. Smaller games would work good but others had lag problems. I think this has the possibility if more cross platform and no lag. It may be to late for Stadia by the time they figure that out. I am sure it’s on life support. Basically we ended up just us wing the chrome cast it came with to cast our Oculus on.

Nintendo (NES)
We never owned one when I was a child but my friends and my Aunt had one. Multiple games played but what sticks out in my mind is of course Mario, duck hunt which seemed to be played using an unknown magic to me, and a game I can’t remember the name of. All I remember is I was a knight looking character on a kinda side scrolling game and I would have to jump up tree branches on the sides of the playing area. I had no idea what I was doing but I have a few memories in my memory bank playing this game as a 7-8 year old. The memories give it 5 stars. And if anyone knows what game I’m talking about let me know!

Oh racing against my friends playing track and field was awesome too!
