Nothing super special to this game. Shoot the enemies hit apples to replenish health stamina or an extra life. More enemies you kill the more you can unlock on your next run. Can get addictive

Rampage
Replaying this game made me remember how simple and yet how much fun this game is. Nothing fancy to it. Pick between 3 characters and demolish the city. Eat whatever you want but there are consequences to the wrong things! Destroy as much of the city while being attacked by the military before the fighter jets come and end the level. Rack up points based off of buildings demolished people and food eaten and cars destroyed. A classic came that anyone can play and is filled with hours of fun

Super Mario 3D World
This was the first game i played all the way through with my wife. It was a blast and the gameplay was fun and creative. We loved the toad levels. Playing as cat Mario. And just the free flow of the game. I enjoy the 3D Mario games much more than the platform ones so that added to the enjoyment of this game. Graphics were great multiplayer ran well and the story was enjoyable.

Kingdom Hearts III
This game man. I ordered the special collection edition of this game because i was so excited for it. I even got it a day before release (i think square enix goofed).

The final story in the xehanort saga was such a disappointing experience. The gameplay even on the highest difficulty felt very underwhelming because the new gimmicks in the game (amusement rides are super OP and wielding 3 keyblades that change forms and have crazy power) just made the combat way too easy. Only a few fights were truly challenging and the majority of them only came bc of DLC (which was a huge waste of money).

The story had its moments throughout the game but towards the end it got very dry and disappointing. How it ended left more questions than what we started with. Kairi and Lea (axel) train all this time and are completely worthless in the end. We finally get the big reunion of everyone and it gets wiped immediately.

If it wasn’t for the game being absolutely gorgeous I’d probably make this a 1.5 star game. The secret boss made up for the disappointing combat as it was very challenging and such a fun fight.

Hyrule Warriors
I’ve always been a huge dynasty warriors fan so when i saw a Zelda version it was an instant buy.

Play as a champion throughout the story mode. Level up your characters and weapons by defeating enemies and picking up items. Hack and slash your way through the levels as you complete the dedicated missions.

This game is great because you get to play as both heroes and villains. There’s different game modes that add challenges to the game. You can swap weapons on characters that change how they play. Team up with other allies on the battlefield to increase your chances of winning the fight.

Only reason it’s not a 5 star is it can get a tad boring at times but overall it’s a great fun mindless game.

Elden Ring
Elden ring was the first souls type game i played since bloodborne. I didn’t exactly know what i was getting into when i purchased this game. Enter the lands between where you travel a massive map trying to bring rule back to the chaotic land and be king. There are 6 different endings with 5 being quest specific ones (some more invoked than others).

This game from what I’ve played is much easier in a way than the other bc of all the resources and abilities you have. Jumping is very much broken in this game and so can be riding your horse in battle. You obtain a large amount of different summons throughout the play through that help. Choose how you wanna play (str int wisdom). Get really cool detailed armor weapons and accessories by defeating enemies and opening chests.

At first the game was a bit confusing bc i didn’t realize the checkpoints pointed you to where the main story led. Once i figured that out by exploring it made more sense. The lands between is filled with vile enemies landscape and NPC’s that sometimes you wanna kill (choose wisely).

As you proceed through the game it gets more chaotic certain paths start to close depending on what you choose to do / follow making you have to replay the game (NG+). As i played i found myself exploring a lot and got distracted from the main story bc there is just so much to do in terms of side quests and just trying to explore every inch of the game (there’s a lot of hidden things from the story)

Overall the game is well designed. The bosses are all a challenge in their own way. The map is wonderfully designed and a pleasure to travel through. The npc’s in the game are fun interactive and sometimes aggravating (looking at you patches). It’s very much a replay able game that offers fun different ways to play differently each time if you so choose once you unlock the ability to reroll your stats.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds
This game you play as link again in the same world as link to the past but several years later once again having to save the kingdom after sorcerer yuga steals Zelda. Getting to replay the best Zelda game with new features music and gimmicks was great. Travel between the alternate dimension oh hyrule called lorule. Stop Yuga from trying to resurrect ganon from the past.

Wish they’d port this to the switch.

Super Mario 3D All-Stars
This is a must buy/ have for any Mario fan. With 3 of the best 3D Mario games included (Mario 64 Mario sunshine and Mario galaxy) you get to relive those childhood memories all over again. The upgraded graphics was a nice touch and didn’t take away from the originals. Not sure how rare or difficult it is to obtain these games separate but this is the best way to play all 3 if you don’t own them separately.

Bejeweled Blitz
Just another swap colors to match similar ones where the bigger matches you get the better things that happen. Nothing memorable about the game and would only get played if i was that bored
0
Bully
First let me start off by saying shame that this game didn’t get its sequel bc of gtaV.

Play as a troubled teenager who’s trying to make a name in highschool. As you continue to complete tasks (beating up on the bullies , hanging with the nerds , trying to get the girl , surviving the onslaught from the teachers) you’ll rank yourself up inside the school. This game has so much to do and was such a pleasant surprise in how fun it was to play as a high schooler. Rockstar games tend to get dull at times and this game does not fit that mold. It’s full of plenty of memorable moments that make you wanna keep playing.

Mario Strikers: Battle League
This game was such a huge let down after all the hype that came with it. The game itself just seems to lack content outside of online play and that in itself is a red flag. The AI feels off at times where i question what exactly they’re doing. Not being able to view the whole field makes it difficult to keep track of what’s going on at times. The item boxes sucked. Having to hope to be near one instead of being given an item was a drag and the rng could be miserable at times. The stadiums were very boring. Tackling is not good. Every character having a super attack seems a bit much compared to the previous game where there was only one captain. The only plus side to this game is it’s a soccer game and Mario.

Brawlhalla
Rey is gonna hate me for this but this game feels so stiff. It is fun and i love the concept of items giving special weapons if you’re able to obtain them in the match before your opponent. There’s ALOT of characters which is a plus compared to another platform game like rivals. The rematch ability is a great plus along with it having a ranking system bc it gives incentive to play. My biggest gripe is the game isn’t fluid and i feel like I’m playing 5 steps ahead of the game. Also the fact you can wall camp forever takes so much fun out of the game. I believe the game could get better if it gets a sequel but even though it’s a free game it’s best left in the dust behind games like rivals multiversus and smash.

Target
Target is the game where you go in super confident thinking you know exactly where a spot is only to not even be on the same game. Such a fun mini game to play especially when i see games like elden ring and LTTP on it! Some days I’m hot some days I’m not. Best part is it’s a new chance the next day

Kingdom Hearts χ (X - Chi)
This mobile game gave us the backstory that leads to the whole game of kingdom hearts. Unfortunately its your typical freemium game where spending money makes the game easier/doable at times. Alot of RNG in collecting tokens that you use to level up evolve and battle. The story alone is what makes this game great. if it wasnt for the mobile game aspect it would be a 5 star game. Watch the plot of this game when you have the chance if youre into kingdom hearts. It connects alot of stuff.

This game has lots of ways to play in daily missions that change depending on the day. special events that drop rare items and even raid bosses that you can team up with others to take down very powerful (huge hp) bosses. use up your daily ap as you complete levels and grind your way to the end.

Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories
This game. When it first released on the gba I had no clue what was going on. It felt odd. I later played it on the ps2 and it felt much better though it felt like it belonged more on the gba than the ps2.

This story takes place right after KH1 where sora and gang travel to castle oblivion fighting Organization XIII. What is different about this game compared to all of them is the battle system is cards.. Though it sounds awful its not as bad as it sounds. Fighting this way takes alot of thought and planning so you dont waste cards. There is definitely a learning curve that takes alittle to get used to but thankfully it starts off slow so you have time to figure it out. The story imo is very solid where you get to walk through sora and rikus stories. All the worlds come from soras memories and the castle they travel through leads to the plot of KH2. You can 100% skip playing this game and watch the cinematics if the card battle style isnt attractive but i recommend you do that minimally because of the information this game gives on the plot of the story.
0
Kingdom Hearts II
Arguably the best kingdom hearts game in the franchise. This game takes place just after chain of memories where sora lost all his memories and at the same time (in the beginning) as 358/2.

The whole plot of the game is you start as roxas to unlock soras memories back (hes soras nobody). Then you play as sora as you once again have to go back to all the Disney worlds old and new to reseal them. Donald goofy and sora encounter the new enemies (nobodies) along with heartless still as they try and find king Mickey riku and kairi. You learn some history on who these nobodies are and what the purpose of xehanorts plan to open up kingdom hearts is for.

This game implements a new thing called forms. In the original kh2 there’s 5 forms (valor , wisdom, master , final and anti) the remix adds a new one called limit. Each form has unique abilities and uses.

This is a game that i can play 1000 times and still never get bored of it. Even if you don’t like the idea of Disney and final fantasy riding together kingdom hearts 2 is hands down one of the greatest games you can play and enjoy because of how fluid the controls are the story and the challenges it presents.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
Pokemon scarlet and violet was an improvement from Pokemon sword and shield but thats not saying much. What the game lacks in pokemon (base game) and graphics it makes up in the fun story of the game. depending on what version you have you will be dealing with either a prehistoric theme or a futuristic theme. The story takes place in you going to an academy to eventually take on the quest of going on a "treasure" hunt. The game itself has 3 stories (victory road, starfall street and path of legends) that you will take part in. The gimmick in this game is odd but it does add some solid thought process in building teams and fighting the raid bosses that will have different attributes than normal.

One huge difference in this game is you "get" a legendary very early though you cannot use it how youd think. The goofy part of this game is they are what you ride, climb, swim and fly on (weird i know but no my HMS yay!) Learn the art of sandwiches that your legendary pal enjoys while also learning the secrets of them (can help in encountering more pokemon and shiny hunting).

The 3 different stories that you embark on does not need to be done in any order though some will be much harder depending on your level.

Victory road: easy. beat the 8 leaders then fight the elite 4

Path of legends: find all 5 herba mysticas by defeating the 5 titan pokemon

Starfall street is the most boring one imo as you have to weirdly fight the leaders on their corresponding bases. Defeat the 5 bosses and figure out who the mastermind is behind the 5 bullies.

Overall the game could be a 5 had it included more pokemon in the base game, had more challenge to the game and not looked like it was designed in the dark . Still a fun game but honestly pokemon games are getting to be rough lately.

Pokémon Showdown
Pokemon showdown is the best way to have fun in competitive pokemon. theres every pokemon at your hands if you choose not to run a random mode (which in itself is really fun). Takes the guessing/ memory aspect out of the game as well as every ability item move etc has a description so you can see what they all do. Build your team try different mixes items abilities moves etc. you can also choose to do specific generations and itll follow those rules and what was exclusive to that generation. the game truly is a blast and the only downside though its in everyone game with a chat is toxicity. some people will either get real nasty or they will purposely take forever to make their moves . Overall top tier game and the easiest way to jump into comp pokemon if you dont know much at all.

Geometry Dash
Fun little game that keeps you trying bc of how frustrating it is. It’s like flappy bird but harder and much more precise. The ads are annoying but i played on lite mode so maybe they’re gone if you buy the real version. Not a game I’d play much but it has its entertainment
0
Among Us
This is the type of game that is hilarious depending on the group of people you’re playing with. Bunch of clowns in your lobby? Going to be a blast ! Got some dull monotone people? Might be a drag or easy to decipher who’s who. Super easy controls and the point of the game is simple (complete tasks and try and find out who’s the sussy boy before everyone is killed. )
0
Dante's Inferno
Your typical hack and slash game. There were times this game was fun and other times it was straight miserable. You play as the crusader Dante who’s led by virgil through the circles of hell till you get down to the final circle where Satan resides with your wife who you’re trying to rescue. The ending of this game led to speculations of another game but nothing ever happened with it. If you enjoyed the original god of war games you’ll like this as it’s very similar in play style.

It’s definitely rated appropriately as it should not be played around children as there are some inappropriate parts.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons
My first animal crossing game i snagged this when my jobsite went down for 2 weeks during covid. Open your mind and let it rip. The island is your playground. Grind bells build your island get more villagers and have a blast. The seasons change the scenery, animals , events and outfits.

Explore others islands trade items offer bells and just hang out and vibe. There’s also random islands you can visit that have all sorts of fun surprises that I’ll let you figure out on your own. There is also islanders there that you can recruit to your island. Sometimes you gotta make some sad so they leave so you can get who you want ..

Besides the constant grinding of bells if you can’t get a good lottery on turnips the game can get alittle dull while you do so then it’s fun again while you decorate and just do daily tasks. It’s a very relaxing game that anyone would enjoy just don’t let that pesky Tom nook ruffle your feathers with his greed :)

Candy Crush Saga

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
The best art style in all zelda games. If it wasn’t for link to the past I’d say this is the best Zelda game. The cartoon style of this Zelda game is so pleasant and doesn’t take away from the game at all. Explore the wide ocean on the king of red lions as you search for triforce pieces acquire the master sword and save your sister from the evil ganondorf. Learn to control the wind with your windwaker instrument to make traveling the ocean easier as well as other uses.

Mario Kart: Double Dash
The best Mario kart game!! The new concept of 2 drivers (could be single or 2 player) controlling one kart was such an awesome idea. It was also the first Mario kart game to implement 3D into the game and not pre-rendered sprites. A great game to play with a friend because one person drives and the other controls items.

It’s a shame this game is impossible to find that’s not expensive bc it’s such a blast

Marbles On Stream

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl
I never played the originals so this was a brand new experience for me and it was great! The update chibi graphics were funny and cute. The new mining area where you can spend HOURS farming rare items and statues for your base was a blast. I know some people didnt enjoy it as much bc it didnt change a whole lot from the base game but for someone whos never played Diamond and Pearl it was a great entry into that gen. Really no complaints. There was even a legendary section added where you can unlock parts to get certain legendaries that didnt exist in that game which is great for people who like to shiny farm or add to their nat dex if they were missing some.

Rocket League
i played this when it was free forever ago (idk if it still is or not) but it was fun for a little. from what ive seen it can be pretty toxic also but thats fine its just emotes . my impression with this game though is the community atleast around here is humble and uplifting and thats what brought my hope back into this game. if you like soccer and racecars this is the game for you . there is definitely a high ceiling for skill in this game as ive seen some insane movement and tricks done but it also seems like a game that is for anyone at all skill levels and thats what makes it a solid game .

Streets of Rage 2
such a great game for the sega. Lots of memories of playing this with friends and my dad. never actually beat the game but there wasnt a time i didnt enjoy playing this game. also who doesnt love body slamming thugs into arcade machines?

Donkey Kong Country
is there a better intro to a video game than this? donkey kong country is one of the best games ever made. a timeless classic that never gets old. a game that takes alot of time and effort to actually 100% it. An era where the internet wasnt a thing and you just grinded time to figure everything out in this game. what a great game
0
Pokémon Legends Arceus
This game. WOW this game. Pokémon games have been a drag lately and arceus came in and shook the whole community up. The open world concept was awesome. Adding new ways to catch Pokémon. Competing tasks for Pokémon to complete the dex. Minding your business and having an angry parasect pull up on you. This game is extra special to me because it’s the first game i watched my wife beat all by herself. The excitement she got from catching her first shiny Pokémon MINUTES into the game(i wasn’t jealous or anything..). Knowing we are getting another one of these type of Pokémon games in the future is great. Best type of Pokémon game.

The story as well was very enjoyable. There was ALOT to do in terms of side quests and main quests. Many times i found myself just trying to catch a lot of Pokémon and forgot what i was doing. Alpha (giant) Pokémon was a cool added concept as well. Such a great game with postgame stuff to add even more to an already well developed game.

Injustice 2
I’d love to get another game in this series. Injustice is a lot of fun and arguably more fun than mortal kombat. Not a huge DC fan but i love flash and getting to use him and kick the other hero’s/villains butt is a blast. Not too difficult on terms of inputs so it’s very easy to pick up and play. On top of great gameplay the story mission is fun and adds a great element to this game.
0
League of Legends
Stay far away from this game. Even when the game is fun the online community absolutely ruins it. I’ve never seen and read more toxic things than i have in these lobbies. It’s just not enjoyable with how nasty people get which is unfortunate bc there’s so much to this game and is fun.
0
Halo Infinite
Probably one of more disappointing halo games I’ve played. I’m sure it got better after its release but it was so bad at release i can’t go back. There was a lot of hype on this game and it flopped hard. 343 just was very lazy with making this game

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
What can i say. This will probably be the last smash game made and it’s been a great 5 years. Sakurai gave us so much in terms of new characters in base and Dlc. Great stages. Fun trophy’s. Lots of events. The game today is still going strong in terms of competitive and unless a new one comes this will be the new melee with gameplay going on for 10 plus years. This game truly was the ultimate polished smash game. Thanks for all the memories

Pokémon GO
Silly Pokémon gacha game that still holds some value today. Hit its peak at launch and there wasn’t a more peaceful day since. The game has gotten money hungry over the years taking away more and more and it just sucks. Perk is all mons are transferable to Pokémon games through Pokémon home

Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars

Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3
This game right here did everything right in a dbz game. Great story that included DB DBZ and DBZGT. gave us canon and non canon content including multiple levels from many movies outside of the sagas.

Travel through the stories reliving your childhood while collecting the dragon balls and strong gear to power up your characters along the way.

This was 100% a game you could lose yourself in for hours exploring , collecting and just trying to unlock everything.

Mario Kart 8
This game has become gta5. Give us a new Mario kart already. It’s fun but for the last 6-7 years? Maybe more? How many more times can you keep playing the same tracks. I’ve had a lot of fun with it but i feel it’s gone past it’s time. Will still pull it out at a house event though

Paper Mario
This game is way ahead of its time. The sequel to Mario rpg we get to go into a paper Mario world to once again save princess peach. Travel the worlds gaining new pals that each have special abilities to help along the way. Upgrade your hammer and jump. Get badges. Have funny dialect. Great battle system. Really can’t say enough about this game. It’s one of the best Mario games. Love the turn based mechanics of it. Love the commands for attacking and blocking. The battles are very fun. The world is great.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
THE GREATEST ZELDA GAME OF ALL TIME. The true first Zelda game i ever played. (Had a snes before the nes) this Zelda game is hands down my number 1 out of all the Zelda games (even beating OOT and majoras mask) nothing overly challenging this game still gives you everything you’d want from a Zelda game (dungeons, awesome weapons / abilities , saving Zelda for the 1000000th time and of course one of the best boss fight at the end) this is a game where you can beat fairly quickly but one that’ll make you wanna keep replaying it because of how great the game is.

Marvel Snap
I play this daily. I don’t play anything daily. It’s lots of fun. Rng!!! Get your favorite marvel characters and build a deck playing mostly real people ranking up the ladder till you get to infinite 100. Lots of decks to build as you unlock more cards with level ups and battle passes. It’s freemium :)

Overwatch 2
Originally i got away from ow2 bc of all the changes and it just didn’t feel right. The more i started playing it though the better it felt and with the recent changes it feels really good now. It’s a free game. Easy to hop in with many characters to learn from
0
Nobody Saves the World
Full edit. Finally got back to this game and beat it. It’s a 5 star game. Funny dialogue. A large variety of characters to unlock and learn. Game play is moderate in terms of difficulty. There are times you have to just create a specific build on a character to beat a dungeon. Very large map with plenty to do. It took me roughly 17 hours and that’s bc i was trying to make everyone S tier by completing all their quests. Plenty of side quests to do as well with 3? Different factions that all have you doing quests that are easy to very frustrating. It also has NG+ which is a plus if you didn’t complete everyone’s quests. The dlc is decent. Some of it is pretty challenging and aggravating 3/5 stars for it. Overall great game. Not sure if it’s free still on PlayStation but if it is def recommend it.

Palworld
Pokémon / valheim. Great mixture of both of catching helpers to do things for you , eat them, train them, battle with , have them make your life easier and then farming materials to build bases to level up and protect yourself from the outside world. Haven’t gotten to play with others yet but few hours in and I’m having a blast
0
Skate 3
This game took what was already great in skate 2 and said we are gonna give you something 100x better. This game was a gem. Open world shredding on anything you wanted. Creativity was at a full on max effort. I remember a person from our community created our local skatepark in the game perfectly which was sick. As a person who skateboarded for a long time this game was so much fun to play on times i wasn’t skating. It’s a shame it’s been so long since another skate game was released.
0
The Finals
I only played it once so far but it was pretty fun with a squad. Could not imagine trying to play this game solo (major headache). Never been huge on needing a currency to unlock weapons. Tournament mode is a blast and adds a much more competitive sense to the game which i like more than casual gaming. Hope to see different characters besides the 3 one day to add more variety but overall it’s a solid game with alot of upside
0
Old School RuneScape
There really isn’t a better mmorpg game than RuneScape. Ginormous world to explore. Different styles to play as. Insane amount of quests to complete. Even if you don’t wanna expand your game by becoming a member there is still more to do than you can imagine
0
Dragon Ball: The Breakers
This game is pretty great. It’s lobbies of 8 people. 1 villain and 7 survivors. Your goal is to find the keys to activate the ship to escape. It’s dead by daylight dragon ball edition. You get abilities to give yourself escape options bc the more the villain knocks/kills you the stronger he gets by leveling up. You also find cubes either by chests or rescuing civilians to level up. Pre game you set 3 dragon ball characters to each level 1-3. When you reach those levels you can transform into them to help fight the villain (but the villain is incredibly hard to defeat)

My only gripe about this game is its very villain sided. It’s way easier to win a round as the villain as he destroys zones and stops you from escaping. So though it is very satisfying to win as a survivor it’s very frustrating bc wins come very few in my experience.

Super Mario RPG (2023)
I was nervous when i saw all the new features but it was perfect . The polished graphics , the new combat system , the group attacks. Going from pixilated graphics that you could barely Comprehend what some of the things were to seeing everything modernized was beautiful.

The game even on normal mode was a bit on the easy side with how timed attacks added splash damage but that doesn’t take anything from the game. (Maybe they’ll add a harder mode in the future ?)

I haven’t started the post game but from what I’ve read the bosses are the real deal. All the original music was added. The mini games are a blast (future challenges??)

One of my favorite changes was the cutscenes the little happy dances when your party levels up and boss intros. It really gave it that extra pizzaz that i never knew i needed.

10/10 will replay this game 20 more times.

Donald is trash. Dumb duck never heals you when you need it. Replace him always

Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars
Another one of those “how is a snes game with mediocre graphics one of the best games??” Moment.

Mario rpg is an action packed rpg where you travel through different worlds with 2 other changeable teammates collecting a key item to fix what was broken thanks to the evil boss smitty.

One of those games where I’ve played it so many times and have never once thought “i should retire this game”.

Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver
Imo the best Pokémon game. The remake of this game was so beautifully done and i don’t think people appreciated it as much as it deserves.

Cuphead
A game not meant for one who’s quick to anger. How a game with such basic controls makes you wanna rage every 5 seconds beats me but this game does exactly that.

Multiversus
This game has so much potential and hopefully once the full game drops it’ll show its flare. Still won’t top smash bros but it does have the potential to be a solid #3 platform behind rivals and smash.

Rivals of Aether
Absolute banger of a game if you’re into Platform fighters. A game where shielding doesn’t exist this game test your ability to parry on top of controlling a neutral to overcome your opponent. Filled with a large variety of characters that all play differently there’s a character for everyone. If you enjoy smash bros then you’ll fall in love with the game as well.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
I was skeptical on this because i got super burnt out from BOTW. I gave the series another shot and don’t regret it one but. Aside from the fun glitches the game is always exciting with adventuring between the 3 areas of sky overworld and depth. I’m only about 50 hours in the game and can easily see another 100-200 just to beat the game. 10/10 would introduce this game to my grandmother
