The PlayStation VR (PS VR, known by its code name Project Morpheus during development) is a virtual reality headset developed by Sony Interactive Entertainment, which was released in October 2016.
Having to constantly worry about the lights overlapping and camera positioning is really immersion breaking and tiring. Only reason they get 2 stars is the legendary amount of game options it has.
The original PSVR? It's like Sony slapped a TV on your face and said, "Have at it!" It's a lil awkward what with all the cables, how it's connected, and using the move controllers. Minus 1 star for the move controllers lol. Those things expensive and buggy.
Really fun to dive into VR and play some of my favorites. I used to play fruit ninja on my phone so being able to play it in VR was such a blast, along with beat saber. I think VR still has a long way to go, but incredibly fun in it's current form. And easily accessible routing through a PS4/PS5.
A few too many cords, sure. But for (at the time) affordable, at home VR? You couldn't beat it. Some of the games are absolutely incredible. Superhot, Moss, Astrobot, Batman, Beat Saber, etc.
Good idea but terrible execution. You’re tethered down and you can easily run into objects in your home. In reality PS needs to through in the towel against Oculus.
The Sony VR platform was a good taste into the VR world but just didn't have the performance needed to really take advantage of it. The graphics and the clarity were greatly lacking which set it apart from Oculus or one of the many other offerings. Besides that fact it was Sony.
