Recently acquired one of these from some family. It is very family friendly and easy to use for young kids. Attention span can be difficult with some of the games, but its still great. 100% recommend everyone play one.
Played this last night after finally deciding to give it a try.
Initial thoughts are here.
I played on my 2nd Gen 4K Firestick with my 8bitdo SN30Pro controller.
At first I was connected to my slower wifi (2.4ghz) and it was very laggy. I upped it to the 5ghz and it was smoother than a babys bottom. I was also streaming directly from Luna on my firestick to twitch. That was COOL.
4 stars right now as the game selection for Prime Members is limited and revolving and I'm not looking to pay for another subscription but UBISOFT does have a decent selection at $14.99/mo and Retro Gaming looked tempting at $4.99/mo.
I play the Seaon 1 Friday night events on my PC. Not a gaming PC and it does fine usually for playing. Mouse and Keyboard isn't so bad at times. But I do prefer my controller for fall guys and rocket league.
We took our son to CiCis for the first time recently and he absolutely loved the arcade. So did I and the games were mostly trash. It just goes to show how fun arcade games are. Growing up one of my Uncles had Sea Wolf at his house. It was EPIC
Expectations are key! There are a lot of creative games out there. I love puzzles and this are abundant. However the ad situation is out of control. Most of these games are just too get a penny out of you and are click bait.
The Wii was awesome and brought a whole new concept to in home consoles. Suddenly simple games like bowling and boxing had EVERYONE in the family interested in gaming.
I spent a ton of time beating Test Drive 6. I forgot about that one until now. Then of course, the obligatory Pokemon Blue. The system really was good and my mom made me start using rechargeable batteries. This is a great system if you can get your hands on one!
This was and still is one of the most revolutionary consoles. NES was great but this was Super. Really it brought so many games we still love and defined genres.
My best friend growing up had one. We spent a lot of time trading and having sleep overs. A great contribution to a great childhood friendship. I always loved Segas game selection and love that they've found their niche in software. But the game gear was awesome.
Remember when PS Network was free? Those were wild times. It made online gaming absolutely amazing for all. I was in love with NCAA Football 03 and SOCOM. I was destined for the NAVY until my console got stolen and I never bought a traditional console since. The graphics were great, the latency wasn't noticeable, and the game selection was enormous. Play Station hit the goldmine.
I was young, but I felt that the build quality of the PS was poor. Mine broke where it holds the disc. It then quickly became obsolete. But it, among Sega's failure, led the way to the PS5 and the greatness quality graphic gaming.
Sega's hailmary. In my opinion they didn't score that touchdown but they did catch it and get tackled at the one yard line. It's a fun console with great games, but it just couldn't keep Sega afloat. Sonic Adventures, Crazy Taxi, the Original 2K sports series (I could write a masters dissertation on World Series Baseball 2K1), and Hydro Thunder. These games were amazing and this console was their first debuts. I'm really looking forward to the next Sega console. Hopefully it's not disc based though...
The console that started it all for so many. The NES was so fun and has tons of games to choose from. It can be a little harder to go back and play some of those games, but others won't ever get old. I just wish I could give this 6 stars.
