The Xbox 360 is a home video game console developed by Microsoft. As the successor to the original Xbox, it is the second console in the Xbox series. It competed with Sony's PlayStation 3 and Nintendo's Wii as part of the seventh generation of video game consoles. It was officially unveiled on MTV on May 12, 2005, with detailed launch and game information announced later that month at the 2005 Electronic Entertainment Expo.
Im not sure what to say of this one. Once my eyes opened to the reality that nintnedo was not the only gaming company, I saw xbox 360 games and tried to play them all. It wa sa glorious time to experiment, and nothing could bring down this tr-wait, why is it red now?
So I've been mulling this since I got assigned this one as my personal quest. Four stars feels generous, but still fair. It has a few exclusives but certainly not enough to overcome the legendary red ring of death.
Somehow I escaped the red ring for forever with this thing, up until I essentially took a hiatus from video games and done into tabletop games. Then it red ringed and made that even easier ? Until then, was a great system with some of my favorite games/franchises on it
The Xbox 360 introduced a new era of gaming with its robust online multiplayer and a library of iconic titles, but its notorious "Red Ring of Death" could turn your gaming dreams into a nightmare. Despite the flaws, it's one for the books.
One of the best consoles in my opinion. Had a wonderful party system that made multiplayer much easier than other consoles. Unfortunately this can’t get 5 stars because of the infamous red ring issue. It happened to every 360 and would put the console 100% out of commission. Other than that, perfect in every way.
Great games that introduced me to franchise’s I love still. But that red ring of death…not having my Xbox for over a month was no good while it got fixed.
This was the standard at the time. The PS3 wasn't far behind, but the 360 was it. The Red Ring Of Death was brutal. I think this is the console that I have more hours in than any other. Halo series. MW series. Plus Guitar Heroes. I made so many friends hosting LAN parties with this bad boy.
I know I shouldn’t take it personally but I got this console the day it came out and loved it. Until the ring of death. I never bought Xbox again. Or wore rings for that matter.
This is my favourite console that has my favourite games of all-time Halo 3, Skyrim, Red Dead, GTA and started my love for Nba2k and Madden. I have lots of great memories having lab parties with friends and family.
New console generations are always exciting, but imho the jump from the OG Xbox to 360 (and the jump from PS2 to PS3 for that matter) had a lot of quality of life improvements without necessarily being innovative. That said, the 360 was a great console, introducing things like native support for wireless controllers, and supporting monster titles like Skyrim as it aged.
The best console Microsoft ever put out. Everything about this system was gold. The controller, the look, the games, the red rings, everything! The way Microsoft incorporated your avatar and profile and the addition of a gamer score was perfect. It helped draw me in and my friends and keep us connected on the same platform. All around great system.
Another system that I traveled with, but less distance. My friends and I spent so many hours playing Modern Warfare 2 on the 360 & I luckily never dealt with the red ring of death ... wait, no. I did. My system was so old by that point though I didn't mind buying the new slim model after it came out. At this point in time though, I didn't think that Microsoft could do wrong with their consoles & they definitely continue to impress with the consoles that they release.
The 360 was an excellent console. Spent many hours in the dorm playing Madden, FIFA, COD, and so much more. This was the first non Nintendo Console I really got to enjoy and put many hours on
Would had been 5 stars if it wasn’t for the dreaded red ring of death, which happened to 3 of mine.
But it came out in the heyday of my gaming. The long nights of trash talking in halo 3 and COD. Being mesmerized by Gears of War. This was also when online gaming became streamlined and it just made gaming with friends that much easier.
As a loyal Nintendo customer, it is difficult to say this, but the Xbox 360 may be my favorite console. Call of Duty, Halo, and Gears of War were some of my favorite series to play. The 360 controller is still the controller I found most comfortable. It was sturdy and felt like you could really put it to work. The later Kinect that was released was a great early version of augmented reality games.
