WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2009
WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2009 (sometimes subtitled with featuring ECW) is a professional wrestling video game developed by Yuke's and published by THQ for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable, Wii, and Xbox 360 video game consoles, with TOSE overseeing development for the Nintendo DS version. The game was first released on November 9, 2008 in North America. It is the tenth overall installment in the video game series based on the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) promotion, and the fifth game under the SmackDown vs. Raw name, named after the promotion's Raw and SmackDown brands. It is the sequel to 2007's SmackDown vs. Raw 2008 and the second game to feature the promotion's ECW brand. 2009 introduced the Inferno match, a revamped tag team match, and four new game modes: "Create-a-Finisher", "Road to WrestleMania", "Career", and multiplayer season. The game was succeeded by 2009's WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2010.
Blood, Mild Language, Suggestive Themes, Violence
WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2009 is a pro wrestling simulation game in which players can assume the roles of several wrestling characters and compete against others in contests of strength and style. Participants are depicted realistically, with a large variety of wrestling moves. Certain matches allow for the use of weapons (chairs, tables, barbed wire), while video montages feature brief clips from live wrestling matches. Blood may appear on an opponent's face, chest, or the mat surface. There is both in-game and video footage of provocatively dressed women posing and wrestling. Announcers and wrestlers sometimes use language (e.g., "a*s" and "damn") during cutscenes and audio phone conversations.
