Wordle is a web-based word game created and developed by Welsh software engineer Josh Wardle, and owned and published by The New York Times Company since 2022. Players have six attempts to guess a five-letter word, with feedback given for each guess in the form of colored tiles indicating when letters match or occupy the correct position. The mechanics are nearly identical to the 1955 pen-and-paper game Jotto and the television game show franchise Lingo. Wordle has a single daily solution, with all players attempting to guess the same word.

Wordle is a great game that challenges you to think of your limited lexicon but then you forget basic English and you just stay there, thinking what other words have the letter u in it so you try and try again to see if the word CRIDE would work, No? Maybe XRIDE?

I enjoy logic puzzles like this, where you have to find the quickest way to cancel out possibilities. Frustrating though when you get the last 4 letters be something like "inch" & you have 3 or 4 possible answers but only 2 guesses left. If you like this try quordle, octordle as they get much more interesting

I get a text every morning like clockwork from my Mom with her daily Wordle score. Occasionally, it is accompanied by a comment or two about how hard the word is to figure out. Some days these texts get lost in the momentum of the day. Other days, I take space from it all play Wordle and have a chat with my Mom.

Wordle brings people together. That’s what gaming is all about.
