Tomb Raider is a 2013 action-adventure video game developed by Crystal Dynamics and published by Square Enix's European subsidiary. It is the tenth main game in the Tomb Raider franchise and is a reboot of the series, acting as the first instalment in the Survivor trilogy that reconstructs the origins of Lara Croft. Tomb Raider was first released on 5 March 2013 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Gameplay elements focus more on survival, although exploration is used within the game when exploring the island and various optional tombs. It is also the first game in the main series to have multiplayer, the first game in the series to be published by Square Enix, after the latter's acquisition of Eidos Interactive in 2009, and the first game in the series to be given a "Mature" rating from the ESRB.

I thought this was going to be an uncharted type game. It was more horizon before horizon became a thing. Which is not bad, but it kept me from enjoying the game when I had to pause every 3 minutes to craft something new

I never really enjoyed the original series (I know I know) but this one blew me away. It's beautiful. Great story, great gameplay, everything. Super fun to play.

I thought this was a great reboot and I loved the game. The mechanics are great and I was always a sucker for Lara Croft.

There isn't anything that I don't love about this game, and I thought it was the perfect reboot for Lara Croft. The combat is smooth, the controls are smooth, the graphics are great, the death scenes are awesome, I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this game.

A very good gaming reboot. Fun action, easy to traverse back and forth to get things you missed. An amazing UI that stays out of your way. Lara really seems like a great adventurer in this and there are some spectacular moments that feel like you're living in a big action movie. The unfortunate part of this game is that the death scenes are a bit too extreme, but it gets toned down later in the series.
