Its the better monopoly. There is no luck of the dice here. Somewhat luck of the draw to make your lines happen or not. But there is a lot of strategy to this game. There are simple things that you need to accomplish (make train lines between destinations) and you get points, but you need the right colors, the right destinations, and if one of the lines is covered by someone else (probably because @rey took it first) you need to find another way to that city

So my review will be biased based off of my last experience with the game... The game itself is a solid strategy and placement game. Very enjoyable gameplay of collecting cards to create your path across the board. The last time I played, I won and was met with a group of sore losers which soured me on the game.... Maybe one day I'll try again.

TTR is one of my favorite board games. I love all the options you have on each turn, I love the board, I love the components, I love the fact that you don't lose points for not completing routes at the end of the game. Everything about this game is the definition of how to make a fun, replayable, successful game. 10 out of 5 stars.

This is another great gateway game. Anyone can quickly learn and play this game. It's fairly fast paced, the strategies are simple, and it's very replay-able.

When you get to the point in the game where you want more routes and need to draw tickets. It is mandatory to say "Tickets please" like Tom Hanks in the Polar Express.

One of the best board games of all time. I love this game so much since I was 7. My great aunt when she was still alive, in Canada she taught me how to play and we loved playing together. I've always had fun playing this game and enjoyed playing with family and friends. Will always be my favorite.

Similar to Catan in its building, this game is a nice addition to a gamers collection.
It can involve some strategy, but nothing heavy, and is one of those longer games you can chat while playing because it won't distract you.
It is something that my kids, my parents, and everyone in between can enjoy.
