The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is an open-world action role-playing video game developed by Bethesda Game Studios, and published by Bethesda Softworks and 2K Games. It is the fourth installment in the Elder Scrolls series, following 2002's The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, and was released for Microsoft Windows and Xbox 360 in 2006, followed by PlayStation 3 in 2007. Taking place within the fictional province of Cyrodiil, the game's main story focuses on the player character's efforts to thwart a fanatical cult known as the Mythic Dawn that plans to open portal gates to a demonic realm known as Oblivion.

Before skyrim, there was oblivion and it was memed to oblivion. It was funny because it wasn't perfect. It was too big for its own system and that caused so many glitches, but because they were well timed or because their absurdity, it became accepted and downright funny, so now everyone laughs at the buffoon

I mean. There's so much to say but it would hardly do it justice. Phenomenal game. The Shivering Isles is, to this day, one of the greatest video games expansions ever. I will say the skill tree/leveling is worse than Skyrim, but only because you have to pick the skills you want to level up in order for your character to actually level up, which seems backwards to me, but also makes it very easy to level up just by choosing athletics. The gameplay is and story are both great, even with how old the game is. Can't wait for the remake

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

This is a pretty well regarded title in the Elder Scrolls series. Lots of freedom and customization, great voice acting, and an interesting world and storyline. The only personal issue I've had it with is that for some reason the colors and stuff tend to really give me a headache after a few minutes.
