A straight up shot of nostalgia. The same classic arcade gameplay is polished and refined to the point of near perfection. Add in the online multiplayer aspect and you've got a wonderful game!
Playing this with my son, we are both having a good time. I played the arcade game, which has a similar feel but this game is smoother and better looking. I'm a fan. 5 stars!
Great fun if a little too easy to push through at the end of the day. It’s a great nostalgia trip for fans of the series and the games and toys that went with it, and the Turtles’ NYC is a fun world to move around in. Multiplayer is where it truly shines, like a lot of brawlers. It would be nice to see this one get some DLC to expand the experience.
This is actually a great game to sit down and play with the kids. They can drop in and out pretty easy. They enjoy it, and it's possible to play without them having to do too much. The easy side scroller hits the spot in a way some modern games just can't. Controls are easy, but it would have been cool to see a little bit more in the way of combo attacks. Very good game though, and a solid TMNT entry.
Takes everything that makes "Turtles in Time" great and then polishes it up so that it really shines. It feels nostalgic and comfortable, but new enough to want to play over and over again. Tons of nods to the original and fun easter eggs. Can't wait to do couch co-op with my brothers like in the old days. Amazing that they got the original voice cast (minus James Avery, RIP Uncle Phil) back for the game.
I love it. A great pixel throwback to the old school games. Arcade mode is your old 1980s style game where you have limited lives (quarters). You only have 3 “credits” to beat the game.
Story mode takes the old arcade fighting style and blends it with modern day achievements. Your progress saves and you have options to break away from the main storyline to complete side missions. They truly did a great job and multiplayer adds to the nostalgia. An absolute great game with the kids as well
A blast from the past. This game absolutely reminds me of the tmnt: arcade game. Really brings back great memories of my childhood. Also epic music. Just absolutely epic.
This has so much of the old school TMNT arcade feel, it's fantastic! Multiplayer is super easy to do, with a simple process of your friends being able to drop in/out of your game (almost like they walked up to your arcade cabinet and dropped a token in the next stick over), supports up to ***6*** players, and has crossplay (right now only between XBox and PC, but I believe it's supposed to encompass the other platforms, i.e. Playstation and Switch, down the line).
Great implementation and solid nostalgia hit, definitely gonna be one of my top games played for awhile!
As one of the world's self-proclaimed top TMNT experts out there, I couldn't wait for this. It doesn't disappoint. I love how each character plays a smidge different. I love the music. The art style and graphics they went with. It's just fun. If you like the original arcade game (and if you don't what's wrong with you?), you'll love this.
