I ended up ranting about this game on the next podcast episode, but all I'll say for now is this game only gets 2 stars because the switch added the save feature.
Mario saving princess daisy from aliens?! That is interesting take on the game. I would say it was a pretty cool, quick Mario game only having 4 worlds. I think it holds up pretty well and give Nintendo credit for publishing some different like this.
Kudos to Nintendo for making this game different enough from the NES game. Another one that's fun to run through when the mood is right. Egyptian levels in any game are always cool.
Okay, this game actually isn't terrible. It's 1:15am cst, and I just beat it in about 2 hours. The world is one I'd like to see the series revisit, I thought the levels were interesting, and had some unique enemies, plus the last level is a blast. 4/5 stars.
Still have this song stuck in my head because it's so damn catchy. Excellent first Mario game on the Gameboy. Feels a little dated today but you can still play it and be like "Hey that wasn't bad."
My memory of this one is entirely in our dentist office where you could borrow a Gameboy while you waited. Great game, but also a unique item that was cool to see pop into Mario Maker 2 as well. Happy birthday, Super Mario Land!
Holy moly i forgot about this game. Far from my favorite Mario game, but I still enjoyed playing with my friend at sleepovers. We would stay up all night with a flashlight and his gameboy taking turns. That nostalgia alone earns the four star!
I totally forgot about this game. I was making sure we had all Mario games in here and saw it. I saw gameplay and it was like "WOOOOOOSH" BAM! Nostalgia! I looooved this game.
