Super Mario 3D World is a platform game developed and published by Nintendo for the Wii U in 2013. It is the sixth original 3D platform game in the Super Mario series and the sequel to Super Mario 3D Land (2011) for the Nintendo 3DS. The game follows Mario and friends attempting to rescue fairy-like creatures called Sprixies from Bowser, who invades the realm known as the Sprixie Kingdom. The gameplay is similar to previous installments of the series, with players passing through individual levels to reach Bowser. The game features a character selector as well as introducing a power-up called the Super Bell, which turns the player into a cat, enabling them to climb walls and use a scratch attack. Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury, an enhanced port bundled with the game Bowser's Fury, was released for the Nintendo Switch on February 12, 2021.

Man I don't know how I slept on this game for so long. What an amazing way to game with your young kids! Mine are 4 and almost 6, and we have had an absolute blast working together and getting through the game. It also has plenty to collect for the completionist players as well, and I look forward to getting all stamps, stars, and flag pole tops. 10/10 recommend for any fan of Mario games, but especially those with kids!

I played through this single player when it initially came out and finished everything except the final bonus level (which bugs me). Just a really solid, fun Mario game with that’s easy to jump into and hard to master the endgame. I would have said 4 stars initially but I’m giving it 5 because of how great it is now to play with my kids.

This was the first game i played all the way through with my wife. It was a blast and the gameplay was fun and creative. We loved the toad levels. Playing as cat Mario. And just the free flow of the game. I enjoy the 3D Mario games much more than the platform ones so that added to the enjoyment of this game. Graphics were great multiplayer ran well and the story was enjoyable.

I second @bitzdad, we tried a few games out before we found this one was the perfect game for my 4 and 6-year-old. The three of us could play together, and no one felt left out, or like they didn't matter. The beating levels was just challenging enough that it was a celebration when it was over.

I'm changing my rating from 4 stars to 5 stars. This is a 5 star game even without the Bowser's Fury add-on. It's just a joy to play. It's challenging without making you want to rage quit (with Champion's Road). It's also not too easy. It has immense replayability with the number of levels and the ability to finish every level with every character to truly 100% it. The powerups rock with the addition of the cat suit. While it wasn't the sandbox style 3D game I'd prefer, it's still preferable to another side-scroller. If you haven't played it yet, give it a try. It's perfect to play with kids as well with the co-op mode.

This game hooked my kids when they played the demo at Target. That's all they talked about doing & again, like Super Mario U, this is a fun time for all that helps with the communication and kids learning to work as a team. So well done, and no issues with the game at all. Definitely recommend for those looking for a game for their kid(s).
