Super Castlevania IV is a 1991 platform game developed and published by Konami. Released originally for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, it has been re-released multiple times, including for the Super NES Classic Edition. Super Castlevania IV features expanded play control, 16-bit graphics featuring Super NES's Mode 7, and a soundtrack featuring new pieces and arrangements based on previous Castlevania music. Following the same setting as Castlevania on the NES, the game takes place in 1691 Transylvania, where the vampire hunter Simon Belmont must defeat the vampire Dracula.

Super Castlevania IV

Easily in the Top 10 of SNES games. Aside from the stellar graphics and level design, the MUSIC in this game is probably some of the best there ever is. It starts off immediately with a tune that fits the game so perfectly and never dips throughout the whole adventure. If you've never played, add this to your queue. Excellent game.

Castlevania at its best. It’s not a perfect game, erring towards being a little too easy and predictable. Nonetheless, for a linear platform it’s hard to get much better than this. A wild, crazy ride throughout with some great Mode 7 effects. A highlight of both the system and the series.

As with so many SNES upgrades to NES series, a leap and bound above and great use of the SNES features, not the least of which was a killer soundtrack. Killer gameplay. If there was going to be one SNES entry this should be it.
