Enjoy.

One of my all time favorite games! I've played this for several years now and I especially love the vibe of this small farm town. Absolutely plan on playing this on stream soon!
This game was a good way for me to act the way I do in real life.
Ignore everybody.
Start off farming potatoes and then move to blueberries. Cranberries and strawberries. Farm, farm, farm. Nothing beats harvest days. Like popping bubbles. Upgrade your tools wisely. The character interactions in this game are almost completely unnecessary.
Stardew Valley is the type of game that draws me in and hasn't let go! It isn't the type of game that makes your heart race and yell obscenities at the screen but that is the whole point!
I started playing split screen with the family and it was so enjoyable to build something with them. It was easy enough to start and fun enough to continue. It is part farm simulator, Parr dungeon crawler, part crafting game and part explorer.
My favorite part is that I can still jump in and farm for a day or two (game time, that is) and scratch that itch of gaming!
The game is pretty good. It tries to teach you things along the way, but doesn't do a great job of explaining most of the intricacies of the game.
Fishing is needlessly difficult. Combat is challenging, but not necessarily in a rewarding way. Both systems are a victim of the games format.
My favorite part is that I can couch coop it with my daughters or my wife. It's an easy way to spend a couple hours together just enjoying each others company. Until someone plants something in your field that shouldn't be there....
If I had to choose one game to play for the rest of my life, it might be Stardew Valley. When I look at the sum hours I have put into this game, it makes me feel: 1) ashamed and; 2) like I want to play more Stardew Valley. Honestly just thinking about the game and looking at the screenshots from the game are making me miss playing it. There is something so peaceful about it, and for some reason this game allows me to drop into a blissful flow state. What's the gameplay like? You will make a farm, you will upgrade it, you will grow things, you will raise animals, you will meet an eclectic cast of characters in the local village and beyond, and you will smoooooooch some of them. It's like Minecraft and Harvest Moon and A Link to the Past had a baby, and it's your baby. You get to raise the baby. And it loves you.
The story of the creation of the game is also fascinating, as every single aspect (programming, art, storyboarding/dialogue, and certainly a million other things) was done by a single person who'd never created a game before. Never give up on your dreams, kids!
I never thought I would like these games. Ever. But I remember buying the "collector's" edition for like $15. It took me a few hours but something finally clicked and it's probably in my Top 5 games of all time. There's just something about it. It's NOT just a farming sim. Don't let that fool you. That's part of it, but ConcernedApe (the 1-man amazing developer) put SOOOOO much into this game that it still makes me say "wow" when I discover something new after 400+ hours into it. Everyone in the world should play this game.
