Star Wars: The Old Republic is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) based in the Star Wars universe. Developed by BioWare Austin and a supplemental team at BioWare Edmonton, the game was announced on October 21, 2008. The video game was released for the Microsoft Windows platform on December 20, 2011 in North America and part of Europe. It was released in Oceania and Asia on March 1, 2012.

Though I was not a fan of the fighting system, this game is top notch in many categories. Story, characters, and yes, even a little bit of combat. This game explores the themes of star wars before the skywalker saga, and it introduces us to ideas that will later be explored (or left tragically unexplored) for future installations of the SW franchise. It is a must play for SW fans

WoW with Jedi? And a rich story per class? Yes please. Expansions sent it downhill for me though. Didn't love their treatment of Revan and the whole Fallen Empire / Eternal Throne stuff was a big head scratcher, especially for non-force-wielding toons.

Now Bioware has given it up for adoption. Ah well, here's to new ME and DA games!

Started Playing SWTOR at release. I was even in the beta. I have seen the game go through countless changes. Being a Star Wars fan it is hard not to put it down. I acquired legendary status which is completing every class story of which there is 2 per base class. 16 in total.

I do wish they would expand the personal character story past level 50 since I believe the cap is now 75 I think with the latest DLC type patch. I haven't played the recent changes as most updates don't warrant a come back just for some levels.

I have to give it 5 stars though. If you love Star Wars you will love this game.
