Stadia
2019-11-19
Stadia is a cloud gaming service developed and operated by Google. It is accessible through Chromecast Ultra and Android TV devices, on personal computers via the Google Chrome web browser and other Chromium-based browsers, the Stadia mobile app on supported Android smartphones, and Chromebooks and tablets running Chrome OS. There is also an experimental mode with support for all Android devices capable of installing the Stadia mobile app. In December 2020, Google released an iOS browser-based progressive web application for Stadia, enabling gameplay in the Safari browser.

Stadia
Stadia was like the promise of a game-streaming future, but it feels like it was stuck in beta. The convenience of cloud gaming is there, but it's still a bit hit-or-miss, especially if your internet connection isn't stellar. Plus, there's that nagging feeling that you're renting games rather than owning them. It's a glimpse into what could be, but it's not quite there yet.

Rip. Was fun while it lasted, played Superhot and Rage 2 with 100mbps download and 10 upload with minimal issues.

RIP Stadia. This is the platform that rekindled my love of gaming. I bought in hard to the promise of cloud gaming, and Stadia for me lived up to that promise. I played 800+ hours of Destiny 2 alone, often times on my phone on the toilet. I played AAA games on my phone. Blew my mind. Because of Stadia I reconnected with my brothers who live across the country for weekly Wednesday night gaming nights. My sole complaint was the lack of games. If Google had made the effort to get AAA new releases and supported them on the back end with gaming PC quality, I would have followed it to the ends of the earth.

Stadia
I'm going to help the rating here. I was a day 1 Stadia user. I have NEVER had lag or a glitch or anything like that. I've used it on my Pixel phone, my Chromebook, and most of the time on my TV. It works. 100% it works better than they even said it would. I'm shocked sometimes when I realize I'm just streaming something. The hate this gets is ridiculous and 99% of the time it's from people who have never tried it, which makes no sense to me. I totally get it isn't for everyone but the tech works flawlessly in my experience. Plus since it came out they've given away like 100 games for free with the $10/mo Stadia subscription, everything from AAA games to fun indies.

I was kinda pumped about this at first and then google sent me one free when I had a google phone. I think it was a smart idea but it just didn’t come through. Smaller games would work good but others had lag problems. I think this has the possibility if more cross platform and no lag. It may be to late for Stadia by the time they figure that out. I am sure it’s on life support. Basically we ended up just us wing the chrome cast it came with to cast our Oculus on.

Cloud gaming is simple in concept but hard to get right. I can’t justify spending money on a subscription service that I can get on a larger, more developed platform like Gamepass.

I love my Stadia, but it never got the support that it needed from the get go. Still, this system has some really good games, and the controller feels very nice. Hopefully though, you have good enough internet to smoothly play

Stadia
An A+ idea that was executed very poorly. Had loads of potential but looks like the support was just never there. Money is better spent with gamepass or the new PS subscription

I'm amazed things are still released for this. My internet is strong enough by the books for this for download speeds but it is clunky and non-respinsive. Someday this may be looked back upon that this walked so something else could run but this is not the thing to do it.

I don’t know if Stadia has gotten better, but initially it was not good. It was very slow and cloud based gaming was not a great experience.
