I came here to chew bubble gum and play video games, and I got some bubblegum right here. You are most likely to find Smash Brothers and Mario Kart here.
While there is a single player campaign this one shines as Nintendo’s answer to all the other FPS. It could do better to teach you about the game types, but once you figure them out and think about the strats the fun really begins. This one is best played with voice communication with other members of the Splat Cr3w. Getting paired with Randoms is a complete roll of the dice as squad based combat really needs people to communicate.
This is also a great choice for kids as it is non-violent colorful and quirky as all get out.
Still new to the game, but I’m really enjoying it. The different weapons feel different, play different, and I’m terrible with all but the roller. There is a lot of stuff to get deep into with clothing and the abilities they have. I finally got to play some rounds with the Splat Cr3w, and it made the game even better (even if I was given the third degree in voice chat). Fun game, fun look, fun times.
This review may change in the future, but as it stands:
This is an enjoyable game with an interesting and colorful world, odd cast of characters, and satisfying gameplay. However...I was a bit taken back by the learning curve for online play, particularly for a Nintendo game. But maybe that's just my skill issue.
I’m really enjoying this game. Gameplay itself is top tier. Where it lacks is explaining things. It could definitely explains things just a little better for new players. Thankful for a community who is experienced and able to help me out!
Splatoon 3 and its series is Nintendo’s version of a shooter. It separates itself from all other shooters because of the ability to control and swim through land using your ink. Though it has a bit of a learning curve, both casual and hard core players have fun. The advanced team strategy for try hards is extremely sophisticated and they somehow have a massive variety of weapons without a meta weapon. I love Splatoon.
I’m having an absolute blast with this game. Fun, quick matches, multiple weapons, and a great ranked mode. I can see myself playing this for a long time.
The new Splatoon is very good with new seasons getting us new stuff and although it has a weird concept of shooting ink and swaping between squid and inkling form that's what gives it its charm
The game is a lot of fun! I've enjoyed playing all of them throughout the years, but I never buy the game. Until they add local multiplayer, I won't buy it...
I'm not a fan of realistic shooters, but throw in some Nintendo weirdness and I'm in! The core mechanics sound ridiculous on paper - shoot paint, the transform into a squid to swim in your ink - but work really well in practice. I've played all 3 but this is the first one that really clicked with me. The single-player campaign is more fleshed out. Multi-player has a great variety of modes. The online scene is very competitive and can be frustrating - you can't just pick up and win like you can with Mario Kart - but with practice you'll start seeing more victories. Highly recommended, and I'm looking forward to the DLC.
A shooter game, but with paint? Sounds like something Nintendo would make and not be good, but it is actually amazing. Quick matches, the online game modes and map changes very frequently, and they have fun splatfest evens that make you want to jump back in and play even if its been weeks. If you have a switch this should be a must have game, if you like shooter style games.
Wait there is a shooter on switch?! This game has me hooked and I am so disappointed I havent been playing this since Splatoon 2 (cuz I didnt have a Wii U). Hands down if you like fast paced shooters with a cartoony feel, look no further. If you enjoy Overwatch and need a change of pace, then hop over the ranked mode has the matches you are looking for in a shooter with an escort, control, and push style matches. I would 100% recommend this game to anyone with a Switch. It has all the classes of weapons from tanky rollers and buckets to support chargers (snipers). Its a the thrill of a shooter in a fun form where the matches are all under 5 minutes. Grab a copy today you will not be disappointed!!!!!!!!
This game is amazing!!!! It's such a unique experience. It's weird and bizarre but I've fallen in love with it. Hands down the best multi-player shooter game out right now. It's fast paced but there is so much strategy and teamwork needed to be successful. The weapons and clothing options are abundant and they all have unique skills and abilities so you can really get setups that work for your play style. This game needs more love on C3!!!!
This rating is only after 10 hours of gameplay. This may change after more playtime. I'm loving this game, and so are my kids. It's such a silly and fast-paced game. I don't have all the weapons or game modes yet, but the modes I have and weapons I have are making this game a lot of fun!
