Sega Saturn
1995-05-11
The Sega Saturn is a home video game console developed by Sega and released on November 22, 1994, in Japan, May 11, 1995, in North America, and July 8, 1995, in Europe. Part of the fifth generation of video game consoles, it was the successor to the successful Sega Genesis. The Saturn has a dual-CPU architecture and eight processors. Its games are in CD-ROM format, and its game library contains several ports of arcade games as well as original games.

SEGA probably started going downhill when they moved away from cartridges.

Sega Saturn
Sega Saturn holds a special place in my heart. I really enjoyed the system and game selection. Really glad Sega is still around in some form.

My cousin had one and I remember playing it, but not really any games. At the time it was fun, but nothing ground breaking

Sega never really figured out the CD portion of gaming

Owned one of these briefly, I don’t remember there being a whole lot of games available for it though. Seem to recall playing virtua fighter and that’s about it

Sega Saturn
Sega was so successful with the Genesis, but they took a huge step back here. Probably their biggest flop in terms of systems. It actually led to a huge number of layoffs in the company. While there were some great games, it was not great.

Sega Saturn
Great system with great potential, but as with so many other "great potential" systems, it was hard to make games for. This drastically reduced the number of games available, in a market where both Sony and Nintendo were taking off great. The few games I have are great, and only can be played on the Saturn, but there just wasn't enough there.
