Enjoy.

A yes, the first quadruple A game. And it was not even a good pirate simulator. AC Black Flag is still GOAT. And it's hilarious to see companies trying so hard to recreate that magic.
Will they ever succeed
Fun game I was able to play with my daughter for a bit. Quests are fun but at the same time so it just sailing around the seas. My daughter actually saves us from being boarders many times because other players were pretty cool with not robbing a 6 year old. I’ve talked my way out of some piracy by asking if they take some of my treasures without a fight and they don’t burn my ship and it works sometimes. Then you run into the real pirates. They will hunt you down and board your ship and kill just so you can spawn back to your ship being engulfed in flames and sinking so you can be killed by a shark. Oh a pirates life.
Sea of Thieves has been a wonderful pirate experience for me. I have played the game since launch taking extended gaps along the way. The improvements that Rare has put into the game during the "Seasons" has turned this game into a brand new experience.
Once upon a time it was a slog to play solo because quests could take a very long time leaving you exposed to PvP. With the latest update to Captaincy you can now pick shorter quests if you need to.
As others have said this game is best when played with at least one other. This is really the only reasoning behind 4 Stars and not 5 in my opinion. The game really opens up to you if you can have a full 4 crew on a galleon allowing you to complete the hardest tasks in the game.
Overall though even playing this solo is exciting and fun. I can log on and do a quick treasure hunt, or kill some skeletons all while sailing around playing shanties and drinking grog.
The open world aspect of the game is great as well meaning once you load in.. thats it (unless you die).
For those who note the trolls and bad players... I chalk it up to being a pirate game where loot is never guaranteed. If that level of anxiety is too much for you than Sea of Thieves is not for you.
A really fun online game with a lot to do and a ton of challenges to complete. The main problem with it is that not a single person shows any shred of kindness or remorse.
