I went over it in the video, I mainly think this game is only for hardcore gamers. The controls are very difficult. But, I do find it very fun to watch because it's a mixture of some many different things like cars, soccer, and Mario (lowkey).
I'm definitely not the best at it and I usually don't like to play by myself. That's why I only play in the TDG tournaments. Because it's just for fun and I get to face higher skilled players that also help my skill level get better. I also never would have met so many great people without this game so to that I give it props.
One of the best and most fun games. Very competitive and somewhat toxic at times but have many hours in it having fun with friends. Also met a lot of friends through this game and led me to 2 of the best groups ever. TDG and C3.
Channel 3 is the reason its a three and that it. Otherwise it could be lower in my opinion it’s not that fun of a game it could be better but just isn’t and it needs better update and mechanics than what it has now. Otherwise the parts I like our the customs and when I would play tournaments with my brother
i played this when it was free forever ago (idk if it still is or not) but it was fun for a little. from what ive seen it can be pretty toxic also but thats fine its just emotes . my impression with this game though is the community atleast around here is humble and uplifting and thats what brought my hope back into this game. if you like soccer and racecars this is the game for you . there is definitely a high ceiling for skill in this game as ive seen some insane movement and tricks done but it also seems like a game that is for anyone at all skill levels and thats what makes it a solid game .
This game … where to begin. My love for racing games and sports games started young that’s all I really played growing up. So when I met rocket league in 2017 I was hooked. The skill ceiling on this game impresses me to this day 9 years later and there are very few “masters” if you will and even they could still grow and evolve with a game that mechanics haven’t ever changed really. I also believe that it is and will be one of the greatest e-sport of all time that has broken many barriers of what that really means.
Rocket League is a very fun game that involves the kicking of a ball, but also driving a car... Crazy right?!?! A lot of cool customizations for everyone involved. The game doesn't get large updates when it is needed, but it is still a large player in the gaming industry and has a lot of fun things for everyone of all natures.
Such a fun game to play by yourself or with friends, and simply a one-of-a-kind concept. The only issue I have is that the servers are not the strongest, but they can be played through easily. Definitely would recommend to anyone looking to find a new video game.
I have a love/hate relationship with rocket league. This game can shape my entire mood for the day based on whether or not i'm playing well. It's a really great game to play with your friends and addicting. Love this game overall.
I don't play this game nearly enough to get as good as I want to at it. Really difficult to get high ranked, but really easy to find yourself playing this game a lot once you get into it.
Car soccer is a cool concept, and I love the variety the extra modes and Limited Time Modes provide. I wish the game would let people be creative with other aspects of the game other than their car. Building a custom training pack is limited in a way and the only way to play user-created maps are either through Steam workshop or by modding the game.
For my 20,000 Level 20 review...I shall do it.
I'm not good at it. I enjoy watching it more than playing it. I got it for free on PS+ when it first dropped and thought it was going to be some gimmick game disappearing overnight. My respect to RL and its passionate, talented community.
Update: And Smurf culture has me dropping this a star...
I only started playing this for the channel 3 events. It's such an incredible game and now it is free to play and cross-platform. I loved excite-bike soccer mode, and this just feels like a smooth modern and improved version of that.
I want to love this game purely on principal alone. The concept is great and well executed, the car designs are cool, and I love rumble mode. I getting your car to launch through the air like a space ship while also aiming at a moving target is a mechanic I'll probably never master.
Played the game for a good few years and I've mostly enjoyed it throughout all of it. The only problem I'd have with it now is how heavily monitized the customization is but it doesn't affect gameplay at all. The community's got plenty of people in it and its not hard to start playing with it being free to play on most platforms. I recommend it but be aware that the microtransactions can be a bit egrigous. Have fun!
While the concept is incredible (like seriously, hot wheels plus soccer!?) I’m still amazed by how competitive and alive the scene is. What’s next, boats and baseball!?
I absolutely love everything about this game!! The physics and game engine are incredible! The way you can grind your skill and noticeably get better over time is astounding!
Can't say I've seen any other games like this one. I absolutely suck at it and can't pull off any fancy maneuvers for the life of me, but I'll go in every once in awhile and pretend to know what I'm doing. I might get the lucky goal here and there, but it's never planned.
Pros: Fun, fast gamplay, great in groups with lots of possibilities for variety. The rocket pass is a one time investment.
Cons: The community at large is aggressively and increasingly toxic, matchmaking is busted and doesnt account for leavers and throwers. Every new update introduces bugs. Private servers are incredibly hit or miss.
TLDR: This game can be a ton of fun with the right group (shout out TDG), but falls off immensely when playing solo.
The beauty of Rocket League is its simplicity. Once you make a game too complicated, anything can go wrong. I'm pretty sure you can build Rocket League in Unreal Engine 5 in about 26 seconds. It might even be a default template: "Car with controls in a box. Click to jump." But you don't really need more than that to make it a fun game.
BACK IN MY DAY you just hit the ball back and forth like football but now they've got all kinds of courses, so if you're looking for more of a challenge or annoyance, you can have it! Great game for co-op play with friends or the team at work.
The first sports based eSport to remove RNG from the equation. Everything in game is a result of user input and/or the input of other players. A true physics based digital sport for the next generation of interpersonal competition. The reason I built a top-tier gaming PC and literally the only game in my Steam Library!
This game is special to me because my brothers and I play trios and get to chat while not living in the same state. The game is welcoming to all levels and is just a high quality product.
Super addicting game. Truly a mode for everyone! Towards the higher level, the skill gaps are very apparent, but the game is beginner friendly AND free to play!
Fútbol is life! Honestly mixing rc cars and soccer seems crazy but works. I personally enjoy snow day (hockey). There are masters of their craft at this game and then there is me 😂 I only give it 4 because sometimes rando matches can be so toxic
I keep going back to this game every once in a while hoping i do better. After a minute into a game i realize i am still trash at this game, but its still a blast to play. The thing i like most about this game is the matches are so quick. You can play a quick game here and there or you can sit for hours and play.
One of those games that I thought I was more than decent at, but once I got online ... nope. So much fun, and wish I had more time to get into it like I want to to become more decent at it. Admittedly I've thought of getting back into it for the events hosted with this game. My kids love this game was well. My youngest just wants to hit the ball & my oldest understands scoring, but they love driving their car around & hitting people.
I first played this on my ps4 when it was free. Spent a good amount of time the first few months of the release playing and leveling up. I never could keep up with the highly skilled players so I ended up shelving it. Overall its a fun game.
