What an acronym stands for has no ruling on how its pronounced & the rule for Soft or Hard G is, if the letter after the “g” is either an E, I, or Y, the pronunciation is a soft g, as in “giraffe.” English 101 rules that I remember yet I barely passed those classes

JIF & GIF can sound the same... sure there is a brand of peanut butter that sounds already sounds like it, BUT using the peanut butter excuse is a reason why people don't understand english
