Today was the most traumatic day of my life. For those of you don’t know, I’m a teacher in Perry, Iowa. Today, we had an active shooter in our building. Multiple casualties and it still hasn’t quite sunk in yet. But every step of the way, my MK family has been there. From virtual hugs to sending meals for the rest of the week. Mario Kart is just a game, but the people are family.
Yes I was in the building and right down the hallway, but I was able to make it out safely with a group of about 30 students. I am alright, but pray for the families of the community. It’s a very long road ahead.
