As I said on the Podcast this game is a great balance of difficulty without being truly punishing or painful. Success after failure makes it all the sweeter. Check out the demo and the Podcast if you haven't!
Glad to review now that the episode is out. Galaga was my favorite arcade game growing up playing with my mom. I'm all in on these space shooters. I play controller for this one (didn't love the keyboard layout). The game is very challenging, but fair. There are some challenges to hit specific scores which will require hitting some perfect runs, but in no way is it a quarter eater like the arcade games of old were. I'm through 3 levels and had to focus in the beat each one. Cheesy dialogue is over the top, but it works. I completely believe that the salty foods are the good guys and the sweets are evil.
I’ve only played the demo, and I didn’t get very far (due to the fact that I suck at playing games on KBM).
Gameplay (for me) is 1 star because these kinds of scrolling arcade shooters are just not my style of game.
However, I have to bump it up to 3 stars because not only does the game look great, but I loved all of the cheesy puns!
If you like this style of game, I say it’s worth checking out!
