The PlayStation 5 (PS5) is a home video game console developed by Sony Interactive Entertainment. Announced in 2019 as the successor to the PlayStation 4, the PS5 was released on November 12, 2020, in Australia, Japan, New Zealand, North America, and South Korea, with worldwide release following a week later. The PS5 is part of the ninth generation of video game consoles, along with Microsoft's Xbox Series X and Series S consoles, which were released in the same month.
I played PS4 from 2016 to 2021 and switched to Xbox after it became impossible to find a PS5. Now that I have one I am mad I missed out. The storage is huge, the graphics are way better, the load times are instantaneous, and of course the single player games are better. What I never like about the Playstation was the controller. The PS5 controller changed that. I don’t feel my thumbs as close as the PS4 and the trigger are ten times better than the Xbox. The fact that the game you are playing can put resistance on the triggers based on what you are doing is unlike anything else. I have trouble finding the screen shot and options button but I’m sure that will become easier as I play. I’m definitely beginning the move away from Xbox and going back to being a PlayStation gamer.
Absolutely loving everything about it! Controller is probably my favorite part about the ps5 experience. The haptic feedback and upgrades to the vibration are 10/10
I love my PS5 even though I'm only playing on my steamdeck currently but. FF16 just came out so I'm hopping on tonight. It's a solid system. I just don't think anything will compete with the PS2. 4 stars
I love mine. Use it almost everyday. It has the best exclusives, the DualSense is awesome when used right (like in Astrobot - which rules), and it makes the PS4 seem like a 50 year old console.
Still gotta get me one but tried at a friend's house, the graphics are amazeballs and the usage of the gyro in the controllers feels weird but in a good way. Need to get this especially for God of War Ragnarok
I always wonder how a new console is going to beat the graphics from its previous version and this one is a huge step above the PS4. I had one of the OG PS4 consoles and it needed an upgrade so I lucked out on getting on through some online digging right after it came out. It did have its share of early release glitches but those have been taken care of. Graphics are solid and on point with a mid-range PC plus the SSD allows for quick game loading.
I love PlayStation! This is a really solid machine! I have two problems. One, it’s huge and not a fan of the design. I also almost only play my switch at this point.
So far the PS5 has been good to me. I only have a few games for it but expanding PS Plus will certainly hold me over for some time. The console is massive, like the original Xbox and I am actually liking the controller more than I thought I would. Good system with lots of potential.
Ps5 is a nice console. However, there are currently only a hand few of exclusive games on this console. If you were to get a next gen console, I would highly recommend going team Xbox. This last E3 presentation did not hold too much hope for exclusives coming out soon, but with the recently re-vamped Playstation Now this console will be fighting side by side with Xbox this generation.
I like it. I understand it has some great story driven games. As a father of 4, I just can’t sink 50+ hours into these games anymore. I’m always playing multiplayer games with friends it seems. It Essentially the same specs as the Xbox X, so it’s literally just your personal preference between consoles. I go with Xbox for my reasons, but I know why others prefer PS.
They REALLY dropped the ball with not being able to support 1440p. You’re stuck with 1080 or 4K. For casual gaming this is ok, but if you’re one of those people who likes to sweat in PvP games, it’s not the best choice
