Do you like Mario? Do you like RPGs? Do you like paper? Then do I have the game for you! And excellent game with a lot of humor and fun gameplay. Mario is off to save the princess again with new friends and new abilities. I love this game, and it’s still great today. It’s also got a whole big franchise to jump into when you realize how great it is!
I can’t get enough of this flat dude and the way he slides into spaces. The fights are fun in the turn taking style while still creating challenge. I’ll keep playing these games as new iterations arise.
This game is way ahead of its time. The sequel to Mario rpg we get to go into a paper Mario world to once again save princess peach. Travel the worlds gaining new pals that each have special abilities to help along the way. Upgrade your hammer and jump. Get badges. Have funny dialect. Great battle system. Really can’t say enough about this game. It’s one of the best Mario games. Love the turn based mechanics of it. Love the commands for attacking and blocking. The battles are very fun. The world is great.
After having unrivaled success with Super Mario RPG, debatably the best RPG of all time, we got this innovative yet buggy concept for the Nintendo 64. At the time Nintendo was spending a lot of time working on methods to make thier games look cleaner and run better than the competition and cell shaded/2d rendered and false 3d was their go to. It was a attempted sequel to Mario RPG bringing life to the stars you saved in 1996, making timed attacks and battle modes more colorful and playful. Storyline was basically the same as Mario RPG which is fine. But I feel like they started to get how to make this game work when the sequel came out. And then complete lost thier way when the wii version came out. Game is good. It's just not great.
I get it, but I also don't get it. This is the take that will get me booed off of this site. I tried three times to get into it, just doesn't work for me.
I recently played this again and still enjoyed it for what it was. It's not Mario's most exciting adventure, but if you want to enjoy simple, turn-based combat try it out.
I like the Paper Mario games. This is a solid game which I enjoy every time I play it. Not the best one in the series, but a very fun take on classic Mario games.
