Nintendo 3DS

The Nintendo 3DS is a handheld game console produced by Nintendo. It was announced in March 2010 and unveiled at E3 2010 as the successor to the Nintendo DS. The system features backward compatibility with older Nintendo DS video games. As an eighth-generation console, its primary competitor was Sony's PlayStation Vita.

Its glasses-free 3D display wowed players, and its library was a treasure trove of classics. However, the 3D effect could be a bit finicky, and the it wasn't the most durable. Nevertheless, it's a beloved piece of gaming history that provided endless adventures in the palm of your hand.

I remember purchasing a 3DS XL when I was sick one day and played that thing all day long. What a great handheld console, probably one of Nintendo’s best with a bunch of great re-releases from 64.

I only got a 3DS a few years ago. I felt like I was missing out on tons of games that only came out on it. I liked it, but I didn't use it as much as I thought I would. Still, it's a great handheld device, probably the best ever according to sales and popularity.

I mostly missed this and have only been picking things up here and there after the fact as the generation is dying. I was actually going to give it 4 stars because I hate the control "stick" but then I remembered the 3D functionality and man it looks good. An epic game library to boot.

This has a lot of great exclusives on it. Some of my favs include Zelda: Link Between Worlds, Fire Emblem Awakening, Mario Kart 7, Fantasy Life, Pokemon X/Y, and Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward (ok, that one may be on other systems now too). I didn't care for the 3D effect most of the time, but it was used well in certain games (Zelda and Mario 3D Land in particular). My kids and I still play this from time to time.

I bought this game solely for one game. Smash Bros ?. Needless to say I didn't utilize it as much as it deserved. But I do know that it was a great system!

The first portable system I bought, I never really had a whole lot of games for it, but do remember Mario being fun, which is fairly normal for a Mario game. Also was a great way to keep the youngin occupied on long car trips.
