New Super Mario Bros. Wii is a 2.5D side-scrolling platform video game developed by Nintendo EAD and published by Nintendo for the Wii. A follow-up to New Super Mario Bros., it was first released in Australia, North America, and Europe in November 2009, followed by Japan a month later. A high-definition port for the Nvidia Shield TV was released in China in December 2017. Like other side-scrolling Super Mario games, the player controls Mario as he travels eight worlds and fights Bowser's henchmen to rescue Princess Peach. New Super Mario Bros. Wii was the first Super Mario game to feature simultaneous cooperative multiplayer gameplay; up to four people can play in cooperative and competitive multiplayer modes, taking control of Mario as well as Luigi and one of two multicolored Toads. CHAOS.
CHAOS everywhere. Because now you can mess with your "friend" and make them lose lives. I once played with my brother, and he died and got 99 continues But it was because I kept throwing him out and was messing with him too.
It was a great experience.

I feel like for some reason, people poop on this game (not here on the Chan). It's great. Excellent for co-op and I love the graphics and gameplay. It's Mario. It's fun.

I loved this game! I got this game just right when the pandemic started, and I feel it is very underrated in terms of people talking about Good Mario bros. games.

The "New SMB" series doesn't get a lot of love, but it's solid 2D platforming that provides a middle ground between the classic 80s and 90s games and the 3D adventures since SM64. While I understand the appeal, I never cared for the 4 player chaos (if you have 4 players, put in a Party, Smash, or Kart). The single player game is well worth playing though!

Absolutely love this game! Still go back and play it, although the Switch version is crazy good too! Nothing better than drinking a pint with some friends and then preparing for the chaos!
