Mobile (iOS, Android)
This is just a catch all

Mobile (iOS, Android)
It's amazing how far the medium has come. So far that I can hook my PS5 controller up and play my PS5 remotely on it, and cleanly at that. It's not five stars for two reasons:
1. Predatory micro-transactions still dominate the medium, though that could be said for other modern games.
2. A combination of poor on screen controls and lazy, non-optimized ports.
That said this is still four stars. If you told me 25 years ago the power I'd have at the palm of my hand I would have laughed.

Very limited but can still play an insane amount of games. With a few accessories mobile gaming is almost as good as console.

This and switch is basically the only thing I can game on so I have to give mobile props

Honestly, it can do more than some people realize. You can play real Rocket League, various steam games, as long as you know what you're doing. Even the cheap ones are powerful enough to do it. I give it 4 stars though, because it's not ideal for gaming.

It's like carrying a pocket-sized arcade wherever you go. Sure, the graphics might not be PS5-level, the battery's melting, ads, etc but you can play while you poop – it's a gaming for the modern, on the go multitasker.

Some fun, some not so fun. It's nice to have something to play on your phone though.

Here’s the thing, in a different season of life this would be much lower, but I have fallen prey to the “I’m really busy culture” of our society as I finish school, have to do an internship to graduate, while maintaining a marriage, raising kids, etc. so being able to just have a couple of games I can play at all makes this a good option for right now.

Never been a huge phone gamer but this group definitely has me playing them with the new Jet Pack Joyride challenge ?

iOS is great for games like Angry Birds or maybe board games like 7 Wonders.
And while it’s nice to be able to play a quick game of something on the go, this will never be my go-to method of gaming!

I was originally a mobile fortnite player and would play a ton. Between the first three seasons on chapter 2 of fortnite I got over 300 wins

Back in the early days of smart phones, we saw some bangers release with games like flappy bird, cut the rope, fruit ninja, and family feud. While I don't play mobile games any more, I remember how fun it was showing your friends that new weird game you found and everyone having fun with it for a night trying to get the high score.

Expectations are key! There are a lot of creative games out there. I love puzzles and this are abundant. However the ad situation is out of control. Most of these games are just too get a penny out of you and are click bait.

I think the game matters. The device definitely matters, gaming on my phone is better for things like Wild Rift, but then games like TFT are much better on my 13" iPad. Overall, mobile gaming has it's spots, and that we are moving toward getting better and better mobile versions has made it more enjoyable.

Great for puzzle or turn based combat but for fast paced games I've tried multiple times but I'd rather use my console. Best gaming on mobile are short 10 min bursts while on the throne ?

I've gotta say, this isn't necessarily coming based off of anything you can play right out of the app store. Rather, it's due to a combination of things like the Steam Link and Gamepass apps, cloud gaming, and the awesome mobile controllers (my go-to is the Razer Kishi). I've played a bunch of gamepass stuff I wouldn't have otherwise had the time to get to if it was a matter of sitting at my computer and using valuable "real gaming time", and over the steam link I've managed quite a few hours in things like No Man's Sky.

Not sure I would use this setup for any kind of online competitive multiplayer gameplay, but for the more casual or single player games, it's amazing.

The convenience is the best part, and it does have a solid library of games. But the controls only really work for a subset of them, and really hinder everything else. This thing has Chrono Freaking Trigger....but, the controls suck for it. Maybe if I invested in a proper mobile controller it'd be better, but at that point I may as well reach for my Switch. I'll touch on my fav games as I like to do - Pokemon Go, Mario Kart Tour, Dune!, Angry Birds series, What the Golf.

Changes mine to a 4 star. Reason because there are more and more mobile controllers being developed and more and more ways to play AAA games on your phone. Gamepass, PS remote, and other 3rd party apps like moonlight. Mobile/cloud gaming is just getting started

Is it convenient, absolutely. These days convenience is everything. Most games are F2P but they are also P2W. 98% also require an internet connection now so good luck with that. It is definitely frustrating if I want to play a game while on a plane (looking at you Zombie Gunship)

This was amazing for staying busy while pooping, then the Switch changed the game.

Mobile (iOS, Android)
Mobile games are great for the go although I think the switch is better. There are some good mobiles games but most of them are knockoffs or just have a ton of ads. There are not really popular gaming phones except one plus which is specifically made for gaming and is not great to have as a real phone.

Mobile (iOS, Android)
I really think mobile gaming is a struggle. Too many pay walls or ads that ruin the experience. If I want to game , then I want to game. I don't want to play for 5 minutes and then have to wait until tomorrow for my turns to replenish.

Mobile (iOS, Android)
Let's be honest here, gaming on mobile sucks compared to a console or PC. That being said, some games are great time wasters for when you are in the bathroom at work.
0
Mobile (iOS, Android)
I don’t like playing actual video games on my phone. I enjoy the typical time waster game like clash Royale. But for games like Fortnite, nope…
0
Mobile (iOS, Android)
It really depends more on the game than on the phone. Some games are great, most are cash grabs, play them and have fun until you hit a paywall. I like had accessible it is and you can play games anywhere.
0
Mobile (iOS, Android)
Mobile games: you play them for a bit and move on. Also not a big fan of using a touch screen for games.

Mobile (iOS, Android)
I really just don't like playing video games on my phone. Call me crazy. Something about it.
