Midway Arcade Origins is an arcade compilation video game released on November 6, 2012, in North America and in Australia. It is the successor to the Midway Arcade Treasures series, and includes a selection of games that were included in those compilations, with the sole exception of Vindicators Part II. Midway Arcade Origins was added to the Xbox One via the backwards compatibility program. The compilation was published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, which had acquired the old arcade games following Midway Games's bankruptcy.

This is a collection of Midway arcade games that includes classic titles such as Defender, Joust, Marble Madness, Gauntlet, Xenophobe, and Spy Hunter. In one fighting game (Pit Fighter), players use punches, kicks, and various weapons (e.g., knives, throwing stars) to deplete opponents' health in hand-to-hand combat; blood splashes occur as fighters take damage. In other combat-themed games (Smash TV, Total Carnage), players use firearms to kill waves of enemies that disappear amid explosions, exaggerated blood splashes, and scattered body parts; larger bosses can also be dismembered as their bodies incur damage (e.g., a cyborg-like enemy with missing limbs and an exposed chest cavity). One game (A.P.B.) describes criminals who are wanted by police for “hooking” and “selling drugs”; players can also issue tickets to vehicles labeled “doper.”
