Got this game on my 13th birthday and played it to death for months. The story is stylish, the combat and stealth system at the time was very engaging and made you think. LOVED the boss battles. Recently replayed this on the MGS collection on Xbox after 23 years and I fell in love with it all over again. A little ugly these days, but it's the inner beauty that counts, right?
I never owned a PlayStation but my college roommate did. The fight between Solid Snake and Pyscho Mantis is a hard one to forget. This game almost convinced me to get a PS1. I did finally beat it, but first a friend of mine loaded my save game and beat it before I could. I was so mad I couldn’t see straight. Good times!
An absolute world changer in videogames. The story, the gameplay, the mechanics, everything so far ahead of its time. If there's one game that actually deserves a full 4k remaster, it's this one.
This game was so good that my roommate called into work for three days so that we could finish it. There are sound bytes from this game that we still quote today, 20+ years later. One of the GOATs for sure.
I really enjoyed playing this game. So much so that my text notification is the same one used for the radio in the game. I never could be sneaky so I always have my trusty cardboard box on stand-by.
An amazing game from Konami. I played it on the original Playstation and the remake on the Gamecube. I think playing the remake is worth it in my opinion, but I know that's not the general consensus.
This was such an iconic title back in the day, especially with the Psycho Mantis fight. What I actually loved about this was how it was unapologetic it was with it's story and views, even up to the point wherein it was getting kind of corny. Meryl Silverburgh walking away left a mark on me. lol
In my opinion, the MGS series is one of the greatest games of all time. To this day I still use the codec noise as my ringtone. A game well beyond its time. The goal, keep quiet and use your resources to take down Metal Gear. A game that truly embodies the “espionage” category.
MAN OH MAN, this game was a game changer. I remember playing the JAMPACK demo from pizza hut? ... it was just the first 2 levels but i played it over and over and over til i finally convince the parents to get it. From running around for hours not realizing you can use c4 on walls lol to first person view rockets that sweet sniper lever and hiding in boxes, so much fun, and so challenging, incredibly rewarding game.
