Spider-Man 2 has an amazing opening start of the game with your battle against sandman. After that the game feel a little stale for awhile. While i appreciate them giving you the option of playing as either Spider-Man in the game, it sometimes would make the game harder to progress through. This game felt more gear towards Peter Parker being the story, and the miles morales missions and interactions didn't seem like they always fit with the game. It felt like it wasn't a 2 Spider-Man game, but a Peter Parker Spider-Man game with them finding ways for Miles Morales having to be super involved since he exist in this universe.
Kraven always felt like just a placeholder "main villian" as I was playing the game, because I was more waiting for Venom to finally show up. Once Venom showed up, the game really took off for me. I wish there would have been more Venom in the game and more symbiotes. Mary Jane turning into the Scream symbiote was awesome and they should have included more symbiote "bosses" leading up to your fight with Venom.
I love the teases they have set-up to potentially be followed up on for the next game with Doc Ock, Carnage, Norman Osborn looking to take down Spider-Man, and the Spider Verse/Spider-Man 2099 mention. I liked the introduction of Wraith into the story and universe. Mary-Jane is OP with that gun of hers.
Spider-Man 2 is a very solid game, but I don't think it can beat out the 2018 Marvel Spider-Man for me.
Spider-Man 2018 was one of my favorite all-time games. This one almost alllllmost hits it right on the mark, but it seemed to go by a little too quickly.
I am almost done with the main story but just had to give a quick review. Everything that needing some slight fixes from the first spider-Man was greatly improved upon. This game is a near 10/10 in my book. More to follow.
Now that I have fully finished everything in the game I could say it’s going to be a game I will always go back to a try to do it faster. The villains in the game are just incredible to fight against an the story that goes which each fight is amazing. The character development between Miles and Peter. I also loved how they included things from both games which made it even better. Some of the side quests like the mysterious ones took forever but it was worth. If you haven’t played it I would definitely recommend it since it’s so amazingly done by the creators of it. And the storyline is a chefs kiss.
I got this game for Christmas with a new PS5 and have the Platinum trophy already, amazing writing and the game play feels great! If you're a spiderman fan I HIGHLY recommend, have some tissues on hand
I'm not finished but I'm reaching the endgame. The story is fantastic, and as with one the voice acting is among the best I've ever heard in a video game. The complaints I hear about this game, whether narrative or political are frankly utter garbage. The only disagreements I've heard are that they aren't faithful to the comics or that people just didn't agree with it. I feel like it's all earned here. The game is beautiful and the first full PS5 game I've seen three years into this system and it makes the most of it.
Not sure what else you could give this besides a 5/5. It's such a great story and never feels boring for a second (maybe a few MJ stealth missions but eh, they're fine). The only 'bad' thing is that I don't know where else they go from here. I don't know how games get BETTER than this. Graphically, storywise, etc. I loved this take on Venom. Kraven was friggin' awesome. Super fun from start to finish.
Here it is...After 30ish hours I have 100% completed the game and achieved Platinum.
The game's storyline is phenomenal. Insomniac did justice to the variety to Spider-Man characters within the game. Sandman, Kraven, and Venom were just perfect. The free roam of the city is always a blast. TONS of easter eggs throughout the game, and although I'm trying to avoid spoilers, there's even an "Across the Spider-verse" easter egg somewhere in the game connecting it to the movies. Even after you finish the main story, there's still a ton of side missions that add to the storyline. Some might even choke you up.
Spider-Man 3 will happen, and I cannot wait for it. If you own a Playstation 5, play these games as they're just a fun time
