This game is really good for making golf interesting. A bit repetitve on the main gameplay, but then comes other modes and characters that keep it fresh. I actually enjoyed it a bunch. I do wish it had a bit more of a Mario Flair to it
I'm still undecided about the game itself. It's not a usual golf game which I usually love. HOWEVER! The community on C3 makes this game an essential in your list!
I slept on this game for too long thinking I didn't need another social game in my life. I was wrong, the game is great to play solo, couch competing, and especially on Sunday Nights with the Cr3w.
All the standard golf game fare you would expect with a little Mario Party flavor sprinkled in.
UPDATE: I played through the Adventure Mode to build up my Mii into something competitive. This mode is completely skippable as far as I'm concerned. If it wasn't for needing a Mii in some of the weekly competitions i don't think I would recommend that anyone go through and finish it. It was bad enough that I had to remove a star from my original rating. Just pointless and forgettable.
Wow! All these years this is the kind of Golf Game I've been looking for.
The ease at which they have created mechanics you manipulate with multiple buttons is great. I also love the different modes: speed, story, battles ...
I've only been at it for about 2 weeks and I'm quite hooked on it. I can see where this will be a game I can have in my rotation at all times and never get sick of.
While I haven't played this game in a while, it is a lot of fun. I picked it up to play with the TDG guys and had a blast. Fun mechanics, fun courses, fun power ups. A really solid entry into the Mario sports category of games. It's an easy game to pick up and be able to play, but there's a lot there to practice and get good with. Pick it up and play with the cr3w because Sundays are for Golf.
I'll start off by saying I'm atrocious at this game. But I really do enjoy it for the social aspect, the characters, courses, and power ups. Playing with folks from TDG is very fun although I rarely get the chance.
I’ve never been a huge fan of golf games but I really enjoy this one. It doesn’t hit the point of silliness where you can still take it semi-seriously as a golf game and the adventure feels like a Mario game. Would highly recommend to anyone who is a fan of Mario games and/or golf games.
Online Ranked Mode is Garbage: 1 Star.
Story mode is fun and doesn't take too long: 4 Stars
Playing this game with The Dad Gaming Mario Golf League: Not enough stars to rate.
I had a blast playing this game with The Dad gaming. It is a lot of fun just playing golf with powerups and chatting it up. However, we had our second child early last year and i stopped playing during the early newborn stage due to being tired and not being motivated to play games. I tried to get back into it, but for some reason I just cant. Also, there are too many other games to be played right now. I hope to be back one day.
I really want to like this more and will eventually give it a fair shot. I bought the game and played a handful of rounds and couldn't get into it. I love golf games and I love Mario. However, this game was a bit underwhelming.
I may get hate for this and I do love this game. The three stars basically is because I am terrible at the speed golf. I have played the motion golf and I thought it was really good. That brings up to 4 stars now. I just cant make my mind up with this one. Maybe if we get some C3 challenges....
There are some unique new modes in here, but there's just something... off... about this game. I played through the solo mode and got a feel for the main courses, before the free DLC adds. And it doesn't have the solid course layouts of Toadstool Tour or the relaxing golf-sim charm of 64. I'm going to give it another shot with the TDG tourney which I will fail spectacularly at because I really want to like this game more after waiting years for a follow up.
I absolutely love this game. I gave it 4 stars as an average between solo and online mode. The game is at its best when played with others. Especially if playing with others like myself who enjoy using special shots to screw with your opponents. (I also enjoy being the victim of a well placed special shot.)
The single-player campaign is enjoyable except for XC golf. Multiplayer is where it's at, but I wish battle golf was more thought out, and would love even more courses.
I enjoy this game strictly for online play with friends and playing with my kids. Helped my oldest son understand golf (explaining power shots aren’t real was fun though). Outside of online play with our season group, don’t really play it too often.
I'm not a sports game player, and personally can't stand golf in any form but mini. This, however, is so much fun. The creative maps, the abilities, and especially the rush mode where everyone is going all at once. It takes golf and makes it fun 😄
Its a fun game to play with friends and the story mode certainly makes single player more enjoyable. I think most would agree the online play is where its at.
It's a blast with friends/family, gets pretty competitive. Not the biggest fan of the battle mode, it's more chaotic than fun imo. overall great game though!
Love playing this game online with friends and even strangers. Controls are simple, but the courses and conditions add enough variety to make it challenging. I boot this up anytime I need to relax.
Nintendo has done everything it could to make non golfers enjoy golf. Best played with friends. My only issue is there needed to be another way to train your Mii outside of story mode.
