Luigi's Mansion is a 2001 action-adventure video game developed and published by Nintendo for the GameCube. The game was a launch title for the GameCube and was the first game in the Mario franchise to be released for the console; it was released in Japan on September 14, 2001, in North America on November 18, 2001, in Europe on May 3, 2002, and in Australia on May 17, 2002. It is the second video game in which Luigi is the main character instead of Mario, after Mario Is Missing!. Players control him as he explores a haunted mansion, searches for Mario and deals with ghosts by capturing them through a vacuum cleaner supplied by Professor E. Gadd.

A game that exceeded expectations! They captured the creepy/spooky vibe without leaning too far into "horror" that would be inappropriate for a general audience including kids. I was definitely scared of a few things in this game as a kid, but I loved it. It was so fun and satisfying to capture the ghosts, and deal with multiple unique "boss ghosts." There are also lots of cool secrets to discover on your first play through. While the game is a bit short, that also helps replayability.

Other than it being short, the controls lacking an invert option was annoying. The aiming in general was a bit difficult to figure out the first time through.

This would be more of a 4.5/5 for me, or a 9/10.

*Side note I think a 0-10, or 0-100 rating system would be better but that's not up to me lol

I mean, its Luigi, ghosts and trying to save Mario
..what more do you want? This was a classic GameCube title that actually made a bigger splash than people want to admit. I still talk like the professor every once in a while

One of my favorite games of the GameCube Era. Taking down ghosts and having a focus on Luigi made this stand out as one of my first games that I ever completed

I got all the way to the final boss and never finished this game. And I kick myself for that because it’s an excellent game. Giving Luigi his time to shine was great to begin with, but to have a vacuum and a haunted house? Amazing. Love this game and you will too.
