This is game that is hard to describe. You are a TV producer monitoring different camera feeds and switching cameras, censoring swear words, cutting away from objectionable material, and adjusting the television signal.

It is a bit like night trap where you are watching and not participating, but with a lot of humor. You can redo the levels to get a better score. I loved how quirky the demo was and the full-version did not disappoint.

This is the game I have been looking for! To be honest I had 2 learning curves to overcome. 1. Move to PS 5 from Xbox and (earlier) snes. And 2 the move away from NHL 94. After I overcame the culture shock I was able to appreciate the beauty of this game. The controls are fluid and once you learn them, you can make the players do so much more than before. If you like hokey esports, this is for you! They have good arcade additions like threes and outdoor half rink ones. If you have not checked this out, I highly recommend it

This game has a what I have wanted for so long and didn't realize was possible. I love sports and support my school, so this is my jam. Online play is difficult and I can't compete with the current esports players who are still in school, but fun.

I simply adore this game. Shadowrun was my favorite SNES game and I was pleased to learn they did a sequel in 2013. True and funny story: the game was free to download on epic game store and I added it to my library without noticing that it was a follow-up to the game i keep telling @zonkedwheat is my favorite game of all time. When i noticed it later, I played it and fell in love again. Good story, good turn based combat, great environments. I want more of this in gaming.

I'll be honest, I had very low expectations for this game and just wanted to try it with the cr3w and it has surpassed every single one of them.

Online play has been fun, the controls are (relatively) intuitive, the Super Mega league teams are well-balanced, and the different era teams which include real players include great callbacks.

The ego system of difficulty setting is a great way to balance games.(just don't let it get set too high or you won't be able to throw strikes).

Funny animations and sounds add to the experience. Highly recommend. If you are interested in joining our league, contact @nanner

This is an excellent game. I had played the original maniac mansion as a rental and although I had fun, most of my time was with the hamster and the microwave and I never finished it. This sequel was amazing and addressed weaknesses in the original game including the interface. The point and click functionality of the mouse opened up new possibilities and the clunkiness of the original was addressed.

This game will forever be etched in my brain because I got hard stuck on a puzzle. Getting through that puzzle would now be something I would consider an highlight of my gaming past. Other than that, an enjoyable experience. As a bonus, It has the original maniac mansion in it, some was finally able to beat that game.

If you like humor and puzzles, I highly recommend.

This game has the ability to take over your life. Extreme Replay-ability as it reward players who understand the game and choices well. There are a variety of victory conditions, and leadership abilities which lead to a different feel each time you play.

What is it: civilization is a turn based strategy game that allows you to grow your people all the way from the ancient era to the future. Fight other civilizations, natural disasters ans barbarians as you expand your territory across the map.

This game is fun and challenging to play against the cpu led civilizations but is enhanced by multiplayer which allows you to play with others.

For a fun bonding experience, I recommend setting aside time to play hot seat mode with family members.

I am not sure I will ever be able to say that I am good at this game, but I will certainly have fun trying to improve.

Easy to learn but difficult to master, this is my favorite of the C3 daily games. Do you like video games? Are you good a reading maps? Do you have a good memory? If you answered yes to any of these, then you have a chance to be good at target.

In this game you try to find a location on a map by context clues from a screenshot. You gain more XP the quicker and more accurately you do it.

There are multiple games to choose from each day, so pick your favorite and jump in there.

Pros: quick simple game
Relive your favorite moments by revisiting snapshots of your favorite places

Cons: on mobile you may inadvertently answer when scrolling down on a touch screen.

This game is legitimately one of the most frustrating games I have played. The only reason I am not giving it 1star is because zonkedwheat9999 loves this game and I respect him as a gamer. The music is catchy and if you learn the rhythm you can beat levels. The juice just isn’t worth the squeeze on this one for me. I may give this game another go later in my career and when I do, it is eligible for an apology star if it turns out I was wrong.

This game was odd, but ultimately enjoyable. It uses voice recognition to allow you to talk to your pet. The pet has the voice of Lenard Nemoy. That makes this start as a five star game for me. It loses 1 star for the frustrations that come with less than perfect voice recognition.

Talking to your pet Lenard Nemoy is an experience that is not to be missed.

If you love baseball (and quite honestly, who doesn't?) and you want to manage every painstakingly minute detail of a baseball team, this is the game for you. When I first started playing this game years ago, I was completely overwhelmed by the number of players in the game (majors and minors) and the number of decisions you have to make. Now that I have settled into the level of fandom I need to play this game (read: high) the game has slowed down for me and I feel like I can manage my franchise effectively. The RNG can be a little odd at times (would that player really drop that ball there?!?!?!) but overall it arrives at accurate outcomes and rewards good baseball strategy and roster management.

This was a solid option for a racing game for @gameboy. It takes a while to get the feel for cornering and using your turbo, but consistent effort is rewarded by much faster times. This came with the 4 player link (or at least mine did) so that was an added bonus. I just wish more of my friends owned this game.

This game deserves a 4 star rating. It isn’t a perfect game, but it is fun, challenging, and uses the simpsons license well. I remember skateboarding on the Great Wall of china and solving puzzles. I also remember struggling to beat the game but many playthroughs after that.

This is quite simply the best racing game of the n64 era. Being able to have 3 different types of vehicles on the same course was a game changer. The characters are fun, the races are well balanced, and the music is especially catchy. Years later it still holds up.

My friends and I used to get into massive multiplayer contests that would stretch on into the wee hours of the morning. For some reason this game doesn't get repetitive or too frustrating. The game also leaves enough room to grow and improve. I am looking forward to getting back into it now that I am older and (hopefully) wiser.

I love this game a little too much. I enjoy the passing mechanic which reminds me of john Elway's quarterback for the arcade (pull back and aim). The franchise mode is surprisingly deep for a mobile game and includes a salary cap and draft. It is fun optimizing your franchise for your play style and then starting over again when the Vikings finally decide to hire you.

This game still holds up after all of these years. The graphics are classic 8 bit but you don’t notice because it has become iconic.

I he levels are challenging but not overwhelming so. Fun times on the NES.

I played this growing up but never beat it until 1994. I still remember that day and how proud I felt.

I love how intuitive it feels. Drifting was easy to get and the shortcuts are fun to find. I like that it adds jumping, flying and driving upsides down and sideways into the mix. I wish ranked would cycle back to the easier tracks for more variety.

I play the mobile version of this.

When I was in senior year of highschool, one of my favorite memories was playing Sega's Royal Ascot horseracing, a video game that allowed you to bet on horses with preset names and attributes.

That game evolved from a casino game to a arcade game called Derby Owners Club (also by Sega). Derby Owners club let you bread and race horses. A friend of mine was hoked on this and would spend hours at Gameworks drinking beer while breeding, training, and racing horses. The horses were saved on card you could take with you so you could return and pick up where you left off. Unfortunately, this game is no longer with us.

Rival Stars Horse racing attempts to fill the massive hole left by Sega no longer supporting those games. The game allows you to breed, train, and race horses. The "skill" element in the races is positioning yourself favorably according to your horse's preference to gain sprint energy and using that energy to move ahead of the pack.

Cool elements:
You can name your horses
The announcer will say many custom names during the race
The horses have different strengths that you can breed for
Three competitive modes (Flat Racing, Steeplechase, and Cross Country)
Three horse breeds (Thoroughbred, Arabian, and Selle Francais)

Downsides:
A ton of ads
Time commitment (If you want your horse to get MAX stats while foaling, you need to check in periodically and give the foal food)
Repetitive at times

You can select your club at the bottom and you need to drag back near the ball to aim your shot and control your power. Golf in sneaky Sasquatch was much better.

This game blew me away. Graphics were awesome, locals were spot-on, control mechanics were tricky but very rewarding one you practiced. My only regret is that I can’t go back and experience it for the first time. What a ride. If you like Star Wars and have the means, I highly recommend picking it up.

This game holds a very special place in my favorites list. The learning curve was steep and frustrating, but I managed to grind through it to the upper levels. I broke my favorite controllers (xbox project Scorpio) on this game replaying downhill jam hundreds of times to try to get the max score. Despite that, I still give it a 5. I would do it all over again.

"It's fun to play the Goonies II" Those were the words that were displayed whenever you revisited a character in this game after you had found the secret in the room. If you have ever beaten this game, you had to do that frequently as you searched for items in the labyrinth of rooms.

This game is part 2D side scroller, part dungeon room search, all frustrating.

Beating this game remains one of my proudest video game accomplishments because 1) It required hours and hours of trial and error but I never gave up. The internet didn't exist so when you were stuck in a game, you were on your own. 2) I never actually owned this game. We rented it (multiple times) from the local video store. By the time we finally defeated it, we probably spent more money than if my family actually bought it outright.

Out of all of the classic NES games, I want to replay this one the most. I know the actual game cannot live up to my memories of it, but I have to try to find out.

I am giving this 5 stars, but reserve the right to lower my rating when I finally get to play this again. One thing I know for sure, if I start it, I will finish it. (Maybe I will use the internet this time :))

Today I will write my review with my son, David.

David "I think it is a good open world game, but I feel like there should be more weapons or more ruins"

Jim: "There is a ton to do and discover in this game... I am still not finished with it. From a Legend of Zelda game I would expect nothing less."

David: "There were some weird glitches. Like during a speed run I watched on youtube, Link flies using a bomb and flew through walls!"

Jim: "I liked the blood moon mechanic of respawning enemies."

David: "The blood moon scared me as a little kid (5 years old)"

David: "The divine beasts were cool"

Jim: "The master sword did not disappoint"

David: "There is a glitch to get the master sword with only 3 hearts!"

Overall - great game
Pros: Big expansive immersive world.
Cons: Glitches

There are some games that stand the test of time. This is one of them. My sister and I played the heck out of this game growing up and my skills still transfer to other side scrolling platformers. There was the right mix of challenge (difficult levels and jumps) variety (ice, water, downhills) and fun (tanooki and frog suits). The items were top-notch and stretched the technical limitations of the NES.

The Mario series is nothing short of excellent and this is the best NES version. I hope to beat it again sometime soon.

I still remember the first time I saw the original NBA jam in the arcade. “Altitude with an attitude!” How did they get the actual NBA license and players!?!?! The game was fun, difficult, and kept the score close enough so you always felt like you had a chance. When it’s sequel, NBA Jam Tournament Edition, was introduced, it consumed my life. After school, my friends and I would rush to the arcade to play each other and any unsuspecting arcade patrons with spare tokens. When you won a 4 player match, the winning team got a free game. I gravitated towards the bigs (Robinson,Ewing, Olajuwon ) while my friends set up for 3s on the outside. Charles Barkley is still my favorite though, his D is solid and he can hit the 3 if you start to trail. To improve, we read FAQ we obtained online before the internet was really a thing. Groundbreaking!

The home console version pales in comparison to the full arcade version. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up.

It is hard to rate this game without the “Mike Tyson” component. While a formidable opponent, Mr. Dream does not strike the same degree of abject terror as facing down the greatest boxer in the known world. For those who dedicated their lives to this game, your hours (days) of work were rewarded with a steep learning curve which ended (harshly for most) with the final boss. Many of us skipped a step and used the cheat code 007-373-5963. I never have knocked Mike down, but I hope to some day. Near the top of my video game bucket list. Sometimes I hum the theme music while sitting at my desk.

When I look back on my life, one of the biggest disappointment (and greatest life lessons) was related to this game. I had played John elways quarterback in the arcade and loved it. It had a unique analogue control stick that you pulled back to “throw” the ball like Elway. I once spent a birthday party huddled in the corner of the arcade feeding the machine quarter after quarters. I was hooked!
They announced the game was coming to the NES home console and I immediately started lobbying my parents to buy me a copy. What could go wrong? John would never put his name on an inferior product, it had the Nintendo seal of approval on his face… this game was a winner!
When I was given it as a gift, I could hardly contain my excitement. All of the fun of the arcade right in my own home!
The game did not translate well to the NES. The control mechanism I enjoyed was missing, the graphics were weak, and it wasn’t enjoyable as a football game.

My only hope is that others will read my words of warning and avoid this one. Shame on you, John.

This was my favorite NES sports game. I loved the strategy of swapping your lineup and the different speed and power that came with the player types. This was a true button masher when you fought for a puck. Learning how to consistently score with the fast skinny guy was one of my proudest gaming achievements. USA, USA, USA!

I didn’t send this in as one of my top games, but that was an oversight on my part! This was clearly one of the most influential console shooter games of all time. The single player mode is challenging and allows different paths to clear the levels. For a 64 bit game, it made you feel like you were a part of the story. The game rose to new heights in multiplayer mode with multiple game variations and very good balance (as long as you didn’t allow oddjob (who I misremembered as being nick nack… why was he so short?!?!). I must have replayed the dam level 100 times. This game separated rare from the other game makers at the time.

Does anyone else remember this game? It was an odd mashup of a side scrolling shooter, a law enforcement game, and a sci-fi horror movie. With its very strong anti-drug message, this game won me over in the arcade. My favorite levels were the bridge sports car driving level and the final confrontation with Mr. Big. When I owned the console version I specialized in arresting all of drug pushers for ,as dive scores and powerups. Hardest enemy: drug dogs.

I found an arcade version years later in the MSP airport. I made it to Mr. Big but ended up having to go to my flight before winning. I hope to get another crack at it soon.

Fortnite

I am not sure why I never wrote anything for this review. I will rectify that now. I had a lot of trouble getting into this game. I played on the xbox and I did not have a lot of experience with 3rd person shooters (especially battle royale ones). I struggled playing it and mostly hid. That changed for me with the marvel season and switching to PC. I don't list this as my favorite game of all time, but the hours played would tell you otherwise.

I like the variety in gameplay between solos and teams. I am still working on improving my squad skills.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

I don’t particularly care for fantasy but this game converted me into this genre. Immersive storyline where would actions influence the outcome of the game. Leveling was done well and there always seemed to be a challenge that was just out of reach. I love playing gwent and deck building was fun and challenging.

This is a top 10 NES game.

R.B.I. baseball was a very meaningful game for me. The head-to-head play was fun. Pitching came down to a rock-paper-scissors with the change-up, fastball, curveball combos. Batters could move in the box and pitchers slid on the mound so there was a lot of movement before every pitch.

One of my favorite aspects was the inclusion of the Minnesota Twins who were in their prime at the time.

I once played an arcade version of this which had hall-of-fame rosters. The yankees had Ruth and mantle. I haven't seen it since and am starting to think it was a dream. I need to track that down.
