"When I was starting out, I was very interested in smoking, but didn't have a traditional smoker. I would either experiment by using my hand-me-down gas grill with one burner removed, or the side of a regular charcoal grill. It was nice because it was a low commitment way to learn but I would not recommend it to people starting out because it was too difficult. I didn't have a good way to regulate, or measure the heat. My worst experience was trying to smoke a brisket using a charcoal grill setup. I got the fire started, added the wood and then proceeded to char the brisket very quickly. I received this beauty after my wife found it with a "free" sign on it while on a walk in our neighborhood. It is HEAVY and very durable. I feel like I could ride out an atomic blast if I could cram myself inside. I didn't know what I was doing when I first started so it was a LOT of trial and error. I fixed it up with @twilight, gave it a fresh coat of paint and we added a smiley face on the front. I am now planning on adding a Channel 3 logo next paint job. "

"It was a winding path (but one it seems like others were also on). My wife was a huge fan of the Dad content. She would share the posts with me regularly and we would chuckle. When the Dad gaming started up, she told me about it and encouraged me to join. I was not big into online gaming and was very reluctant to start there. I had a lot of fun in the fortnite group and the planters tournament. I also participated in retro gaming night in 2020. We entered the family photo contest. I found the video (attached). After that, I connected with @joel on Linkedin. After a while, he posted about a new project he was working on, and told people to email him if interested. I still have the original email from 2022 (also attached). Apparently I sent it at 6:28 am on a Saturday! "

"Can I trust the game? After the John Elway’s quarterback purchase fiasco of 1989, I now consider if it is a cash grab or if it was rushed into production. I was burned again by assassins creed unity in 2014 but overall my track record is pretty good. Is it a property or license I am excited about? There are a few release day must haves. Main Mario titles, Pokemon titles, and some sports titles. For example NCAA football will be a release day purchase. I am also going to buy OOTP baseball this year. Word of mouth and reviews. If it doesn’t pass the first two questions, I wait until there is overwhelming evidence that it is a good game I should be interested in and purchase. "

When @spilseth , @fivebyfive and I devoted a summer to beating the game in the arcade, we used to randomly hit buttons on the matchup screen in an attempt to unlock secrets. @fivebyfive learned the baby code from somewhere (unbeknownst to @spilseth and me) and one day he entered it before one of our games. Wow were we confused! Not only did I have no idea this mode existed (this was pre-internet), but the gameplay was significantly different. The players have to move quicker and jump higher to make up for their lack of height. Yes, they can still dunk! We struggled that game. Due to my competitive nature, and that each game cost money in the arcade I was NOT amused at the time. Looking back on it now, it was one of the most memorable arcade experiences I have had. I think about it more than when we actually beat all the teams and became grand champion. I wish I could go back in time and see the look on my face. "

"Ok, 3rd post. I was able to up the accuracy 2 points 69% and 4,209 Damage. I know a Fortnite sweat will eventually beat this, but it was fun to do. Second post after more attempts: Wow, this is hard. I missed a few shots on the final elim because I wanted to make sure I got the dub. Scopes helped out a lot and pistols were not as accurate as I had hoped. Side note: my sniper didn't have a scope! The first two days of playing OG Fortnite has shown me both how far the game has evolved (I miss vehicles!), but also how far I have come as a gamer. In 2018, I was purely a console player and I spent most of my Fortnite matches running from other players and bush camping. Vic Roys were so rare that I kept a journal. Here were my chapter 1 season 5 entries 1. Last elim by trap (not set by me) 2. Person on a hill had a great fall 3. Shot person in the groin 4. Used a guided missile 5. Won on the final day of season 5 with an AR Now I have a gaming PC and regularly clip my elims. I have so many wins I stopped keeping track. I attribute my growth in this game to C3 where I can play with all of the awesome Fortnite players on here. I learned a lot from observing @joel 's hiding abilities @ggshadow 's accuracy and @thunder 's use of weapons. I am looking forward to another great season with the cr3w!"

"Final attempt was 105. 91 points just for Robinson. The challenge was less about being good at NBA Jam and more about balancing the game out. If you get too big of a lead the computer stalls you out to catch up. If the computer gets too far ahead things get out of whack. Finally had a game where I scored over 80 in regulation by getting into a flow of let them dunk and then they let me dunk. In OT they hit a 3 pointer which got us off rhythm so I had to win it. I learned a lot more about the way the CPU adjust difficulty. Other attempts included 90 with a win and 98 with a loss. I needed to retrain myself for this challenge. 1. Don’t play D… let them score. If they get too far behind the computer will slow you down…you need a shootout. 2. Create a new account (I couldn’t use numbers so I went with C E g(g)). Dallas is easier to manipulate. I ended up with 13 new accounts because I kept winning. 3. Try to maintain a lead of 2 in the final quarter. Then you can let them score an easy dunk to send it into OT. If it was tied in the final 10 seconds I played keep away. 4. Injure them a lot! Makes the end game easier. I was a little bit surly at the start of this challenge because I focus on winning and low scoring games with a lot of blocks, push downs, and steals. Now I see the genius in it. I hope it doesn’t ruin my regular technique. Thanks!"
