Editing my review now that I’ve finished the game. Here’s the review I wrote them on the App Store:
Super boring and repetitive gameplay, weak storyline, chats that spew ridiculous nonsense, and worst of all- you can't complete the game. At least, not without paying I assume. I've been trying for almost two weeks to beat this game, but the end boss never accepts the request. I've tried remaking the bot and letting the game sit closed for days at a time. I can only assume you have to buy the premium accessories. I'm definitely not wasting any of my money on this garbage. It's funny that a game centered around scamming the characters is a scam Itself.
It took me A MONTH to finish the game, and the developers tried to reach out to me to “resolve” the issue by directing me to a discord link that didn’t work. Finally after a month of waiting, recreating my bot, and waiting, I was accepted by the boss and got like two minutes of boring dialogue to beat the game. All that waiting for a short and anticlimactic ending. This game is an example of what NOT to do when creating a game.
I had my doubts going into this. I even deleted after my first attempt, it just seemed sketchy and sleazy.
After listening to the devs talk about the game and finding out that there’s a story involved I decided to dig back in. It’s still sketchy, there’s nothing honorable about what you’re doing as the main character, but the ending is at least a resolution to an arc of something.
I think is a decent time killer. I am currently ripping off the EZ Targoat and it does feel repetitive. I imagine each scam you run changes the chat a bit. I am going to keep playing to see what the story is. Looks like I will get some smarter goats a long the way of my scamming.
Some people may not like the theme of the game or what it condones. At the same time, shooting a hooker to get your money after getting some nookie in Grand Theft Auto isn't nice either. It's a video game, not real life. Have fun cat fishing y'all.
This is a very weird game that has a very particular sense of humor. I didn't play a ton, but initial impressions were extremely negative and left me with absolutely no desire to return to it.
You are a goat who is seemingly creating chatbots to try to dupe marks into giving you money. You can then use that money to upgrade the chatbots to dupe richer targets, I guess. Supposedly there's a story but I didn't see it.
I'm holding back from a 1-star "Actively Bad" because I don't think it is *bad,* just dull and maybe in poor taste (though maybe the story explains how all these marks are actually terrible people, and we are just a vigilante). It will however, earn a coveted spot as the very first game I put on my Hated list. GG, Grift. You deserve it.
Th verdict is in and this game is definitely not the G.O.A.T. But it isn’t trying to be.
The humor didn’t click with me, the gameplay is quite boring, and I just don’t get it. What storylines am I unlocking? The text is very repetitive. There is nothing rewarding from the game. All you do is scam people for money so you can scam more people for money. It would be a 1 star, but this game does exactly what it sets out to do so it gets 1 star for that. It’s a no from me. My advice, spend your time elsewhere.
When I started the game, my initial thought was wtf is going on. I played on and watched the story unfold. It's a dark story and the realism is in point. Don't let the goats fool you.
