The gameplay for this game is good and fun to play with friends, but the controls are very different from the previous games making it more difficult to just pick and play without a tutorial. The online features of the game is the main source of content with very little to do in single-player or locally which is an issue. I would say because of this I wouldn't justify it being worth $60 and would not recommend unless you really like the series.
Pikmin 4 is a great game and I suggest people buy it if they are looking for a great single-player game to play. It's a very warm and cozy game where you can just relax, do puzzles, and explore the various worlds that this game has to offer. The addition of Oatchi and the Rescue Corps to the Pikmin series adds a great storyline to the game as well! There is so much content to this game it took me about 30+ hrs. to complete on my first playthrough.
This game has taken the idea of the classic Mario Platformer and brought it to the next level! The visual and animation enhancements from the previous game to now are incredible, and their is so much replayability with all the new mechanics
