You can’t take this too another level like this when it first came out I saw all my friends get it but when I get during Covid I played it I beat it and I knew I wa just better since my friends took weeks to finish it while I didn’t. Maybe that’s because I had all the time but maybe not.
Not many reboots reinvent themselves for the better. The old adage, “If it’s not broke, don’t fix it” comes to mind. But I low-key wouldn’t be mad if all of the GoW games were remade in this style. Incredible, emotional storytelling, addictive and variable combat, and rich lore all rocket this game to one of my favorites I’ve ever played.
Very fun game with both the combat and the story. As some one who hasn't played the previous god of war games, this is an easy game to understand to get into if you want to get into the series.
Finally beat this game. It ranks wayyyyy up there in my top games of all time. The story was just, fantastic. I am not always one for the story of the game... skipping cut scenes a lot of the time (don't @ me, I am working on it!) but this was one that I... just had to set down the controller and take the story in each time a cut scene came up. I know some will say it's too slow, and I kind of agree, but once I was pulled into the story I wanted to be playing it at all times. Must play, IMO.
The game was overhyped IMO. I was expecting some big awesome storyline where I’m constantly fighting Norse gods, but it was a very very slow story. It took me 10ish hours to start becoming invested. The gameplay/graphics look phenomenal. The combat system is pretty smooth. I’d recommend if you were on the fence, but as I said, I think the hype really hurt my expectations.
Played through this recently as I have never played any other GoW. It was a really good game and I like Norse mythology. Everything about the game was positive and the story is good but it felt like it could have had more.
This game was absolutely amazing and a must play for any gamer who loves a good story. Also this is a good starting point if you've never played a God of War game before.
This was actually the first God of War game I ever played. If you never played the other games, you will be able to pick this up and enjoy the experience from start to end without missing out on anything. Excited for the sequel and the future of this franchise!
Definitely a must have for your PS4, whether or not you’ve played the previous God of War’s. This game takes a huge risk by deviating from its predecessors with how different the gameplay is, as well as changing Kratos into a sympathetic character, but the execution is amazing. Let this game be proof that sometimes taking major risks in life can be worth it.
God of War is one of my favorite series ever so I was pumped when it came to PS4. It didn't disappoint. It went above expecations and completely knocked this out of the park. The 'no-loading screens', the story, the gameplay, the graphics, Atreus as the best wing man in gaming...it has everything. Hoping Ragnarok is just as good if not better.
Easily one of my favorite PS4 games ! I've always loved the GoW series but the added touch of Norse mythos brought it to another level for me ! Eagerly waiting for GoW Ragnarok
BOY
I enjoyed the originals well enough but this is transcendent. My mind is still blown how they cheated load screens last generation. Top tier for the PS4 generation.
