Genshin Impact is an action role-playing game developed and published by miHoYo. It was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, iOS, and Android in 2020, and on PlayStation 5 in 2021. The game is also set for release on Nintendo Switch. The game features an anime-style open-world environment and an action-based battle system using elemental magic and character-switching. The game is free-to-play and is monetized through gacha game mechanics where players can obtain new characters and weapons. The base game is expanded on a regular basis through patches using the games as a service model.

I played it for about 2 hours one day. It was fine nothing mind blowing. I don't believe it's my type of game but I never really got far into it. My first thought about the game is it looks fun but it's just not for me.

A beautiful game that has such stunning visuals and story. This game means a lot because I have been playing it for so long with my family. The graphics always blow me away when a new area is unlocked, and the cutscenes (especially the Lantern Rite ones) are utterly stunning. The sound and character designs do a good job of blending the culture being respresented with the fact it is a fantasy world. The story and characters themselves are written so wonderfully and I am always left wanting to know more and wanting to dive deeper into the lore. I highly reccomend.

The game itself is really pretty and usually runs well, however, the monetization is garbage. The game also definitely caters to one specific audience with its characters and character designs.
